He must be worried about the freeways. Said he would be on the road by 6:30 and at my place by noon. I didnt mention that its only about a 2.5 hr ride.

But, sounds like they left just in time for LA rush hour.

Big Sur and the Californian coast

For decades I had heard stories about the Big Sur and the Californian coastal highway...and now seeing it by myself was just great!!! What a never ending view, the smell of the air, the road, the sound of the ocean....
We left San Jose in the morning and went down to Santa Cruz

And out on the pier

And from there we headed down south along the coast

And then we got to this restaurant, that has been recommended to us several times, since we were in Seattle
Great spot with good food and an unbeatable view. Thx Matt and Inna for pointing it out to us

And after lunch more and more great riding all the way down to Paso Robles

Wow, looks like you hit the perfect coast weather, good for you.
No Santa Cruz Roller Coaster ride pics?
One of the last wooden coasters, not sure if I'd ride it either, but it was a blast in my youth.

Brings back memories as I was on the same highway in 2010, just going the opposite direction, north.

Glad to see Luisa is back with you. Ride safe.

Yes , the weather was perfect . And no , no roller coaster ride ; lucky for me it was too early in the day and it was still closed, so I did not have to come up with a phony excuse not to ride it . Luisa loves roller coaster , I don't

Great Ride Report. If you come back through Mexico City you've got a place to stay.

Hi Garry, good to hear from you and thx for the invite . We just crossed LA recently and I do not even want to think about an other city of this size yet
I still don't know if we will go to the DF or not, but I think we will stop in Tepoz. Maybe we could meet there and this time breakfast is on me
Julio

Morro Bay

Our last stop on the Californian coast before getting way down south, was Morro Bay.
The first time Roger took us there by car and the next morning on our way down south we stopped by again
When we went there the first time with Roger, I got myself a new sticker for the bike

Maybe this couple has been here on a bike trip 20-30 years ago and now they are back on a revival tour??? Must be nice...

Vacations

Finally some overdue vacations !!!!!!!

We are relaxing at Crashmasters private beach here in San Diego, taking long walks on the beach, cooking non fat food to support Vince in his crazy diet (but it seems to work for him, he lost a lot of weight since we saw him in Alaska) , eating sushi and fish tacos ....
It's great to get a vacation ,even if it is just a vacation from traveling

I wish I had a private beach in San Diego. I sure as hell wouldnt be flying jets around for a living if that were the case.

Its always good to have a vacation from vacation. Traveling is a tough job. Always great to host you guys, un placer. Mi casa es tu casa. Speaking of job, gotta go catch a plane....
