I've got to say the Zed 1000 is pretty cool! Still not a speedy though....too much plastic....

I have a 2007 Speed Triple- The engine is a soulful torque monster that just generates more power as you rev it. You can't help but to fall in love with it. Transmission isn't quite up to Japanese standards (longer throw on shift lever). Done 500 mile days on it, commute, and hang with my sportbike buddies on twisty roads. Have no desire to trade it in for anything.

Speed Triple R is the bike, no doubt about it. It's the 15,999 samoleans that have me concerned.
Go take a spin on one of those leftover Tuonos before you sign the dotted line for the Trumpet. Not saying you'll change your mind (the S3 is a great bike), but you may find yourself just as happy if not happier at half the price. :)

I guess the S1000RR is completely out? I mean, it's similar (but better) than the CBR1000, maybe even more comfortable, has crazy power, has all the electronic goodies, and is no more than the S3R. For the money, I really don't think it can be beat.

I've seen online where there is a handlebar kit for it that gives it more of a naked bike riding position....

Speed Triple MSRP 11,999
S1000RR (base) MSRP 15,050

Unless you are talking about the Speed Triple R, that one is the same price as a loaded out S1000RR.
