Now that you're on 17 inch rims, what tires are you running?

Good Luck Skeird
David has said he'll try to blow thru my neck of the woods in a few days.
I hope that works out for you David. I'm am excited to meet you. Hardly anybody (including myself) ever get the chance to do what you are doing----and I think you realize that----you're going to have a great life. My complete shop and accommodations are open to you. I've got room to squeeze another bike in my ratty old shop. Anything you need to take care of on your bike we can do here. I've got some spares and tools to do anything. You've got my contact info. Temps are suppose to be above normal for the next few days. Call me if you need me---you've got my phone number. BigDog Davids going to end up in alaska in a couple months----I rode my WR250R up there just last year. Nothing to see-----as you can see. You lucky dog you

Just don;t spend too much time there. You'll be viewed as a 'gene pool' addition.

All I can say is have a great trip and I wish I did this before it was too late (pre-kids). To anyone free of family responsibilities, do it while you're young! It'll be a very different trip for me at 60 than when i was in my 20's

gear failures
Soaking wet in Shelbyville, KY. Cell phone got wet, using the hotel's computer until my replacement device comes tomorrow afternoon maybe.
Fuck Aerostich, my new-to-me Roadcrafter is soaked through and through. Worked ok for about an hour, then the crotch leaked. Then everything else leaked. All the pockets, all of the zippers, everything. By the time I realized it was soaking through, it was too late to save my droidx. I was completely soaked underneath. I might as well have not been wearing anything over my street clothes. Looks like I need to get a rain suit tomorrow. Whats the point of making something out of gore-tex backed fabric if you're not going to have zippers or seams that hold the water out? Its a shame because it otherwise fits and feels great. Its been warm when dry on the cold nights crossing WV and good enough in the horrid winds throughout today. But I'm soaked and so f'ing pissed at it. Tomorrow... debating on getting a new front tire from Derby Cycles here in town. Waiting for my new phone to show up. Waiting for my gear to dry out. Laundry. At least there's a waffle house across the street.
