New Trials Bikes

Which is better? GG, Sherco or Beta? This should be interesting?

Agreed! With the nod going to the brand with the best local dealer.

Best local support is probably the best answer. So very true. What's that wierd problem, others near you know the bike and can help. Or you can be on your own and help the internet fixes all your problems (hasn't worked for me, I still have LOTS of problems)

If you get into the real nity gritty of it then one will do this better and the other will do that better, do you ride more in this or that? But overall they are so close there is no major advantage to any of them.

You really can't go wrong with any of the mainstream bikes.

I really like the new sherco I just got - shamless plug

Without defining "better" I will just say that the best trials bike is the one that you regularly get out and ride and have fun on. You could have the latest "Replica" with every bit of S3 bling and if it sits in your shed, car port, garage, etc. it being bested by the decades old TL125 that gets riden regularly.

If you are asking which is mechanically better I would propose that for the vast majority of people riding a trials bike, since they are riding way below the bike's ultimate capability it doesn't really matter if they are riding the "best" bike. Would they really be able to squeeze out 75% of the bike's performance? If that "best" qualification only comes out in the last 25%, what's the difference? I'm sure that there are other opinions out there on this point.

Maybe the "best" bike is the one thats properly engineered, and does not suffer from problems caused as a direct result of poor design and shoddily made cheap parts?

Guess thats not relevant for anyone who is a good enough rider to have a bike and parts provided FOC and who wants the most competitive machinery, but maybe it is worth thinking about for those who have to pay for bikes and parts themselves?

Test ride all the brands you have available and then decide. You'd be surprised how differently the bikes will feel, respond, and handle. Then decide from there.

I'm lucky enough to live within ten miles from the Tryals Shop so I do this on a regular basis. Personally I'd choose an Ossa first and a Beta second....
