What?

The only thing being humiliated are the most deficient sport bike riders. Not the bikes.

Yep, it's a piece of crap.
What bike are you talking about?

Fixed it for you.

I can't help it if most sport bike riders are deficient. I'm not talking to those sport bike riders who are actually fast. They are a minority.

You have been drinking some serious Kool Aid. The sport bike comment is so over the top I am not even gonna touch it.

The bike cant get out of its own way, looks like a Chinese bike, is NOT capable offroad and I would hate to ever "tour" on the POS.

To each his own.

Gotta agree with klaviator, the KLR is one of the all time greats.

It's not about being great at one particular thing, it's about being good for just about anything, and doing it economically.

Yes there are better bikes........for a price.

Kool Aid?? you have me mixed up with the KTM guys

The sport bike comment is based on personal experience. I'd say I pass about 50 sport bikes in the twisties for every one that passes me. And I am not working nearly as hard as they are. I have owned some sport bikes and ridden many others. On tight roads, the KLR works very well and is extremely easy to go fast on.

Off road? It's a 400 LB bike so it will never compete with a real dirt bike but it works good enough for my mediocre off road riding skills.

Tour? It's more comfortable than most modern sport bikes. More comfortable than most other single cylinder dual sports and IMO most feet forward cruisers. Of course it can't compete with a Goldwing or most BMWs but then they cost 3-4 times as much. People do take some pretty long trips on KLRs. Mine is not really set up for touring but I wouldn't hesitate to ride it cross country if it was.....and if I had the time and money.

First hand experience here or are you simply repeating the same old dogma?

No Harleys for me either. For whatever reason, the "image" does not suit me. We all have to be honest with ourselves and I would not feel at home on one. Gotta keep it real, and for me it would be a poseur experience. Other's mileage varies greatly of course. Not meant as a put down on HD owners, just where I am coming from. Maybe because my MC roots are deeply in dirt and sport bikes.

I have owned BMW, probably won't go back to a flat twin again either. Can't argue with the function, but I found it to be a bit souless. Again, mileage varies, but the boxer simply did not turn my crank. An S1000RR definitely would, but I am done with hard core sport bikes. I would love to ride one for a day though...

I do like twins. Had a TL1000S. Seriously flawed bike, but the 90 degree twin's sound and feel was very engaging. I may be interested in a Victory or Star Strat bagger someday, but that is at least another 10 years off before I reach that level of geezerdom.

One bike I would love to have around is a KTM 690, for general street hooliganism and off road exploring.

Any Honda. Thought I might like a Blackbird, but I was wrong. Hondas suck. Only team I root against in racing.

The Diavel. Nuff said.

Any boatish tourer. I'd rather drive.

I am not hip to anything with ABS or linked brakes, though I can't say I'll never buy one.

Any automatic.

The R1200C. Only BMW you can't seem to give away.

I always said the same thing... until they started making them without chrome, I like the way this looks.

I can speak from experience. It's a piece of crap that doesn't do anything well. I still like mine though.

Yeah, but that is a motorcycle Goldwing, not the 2 wheel car they call a Goldwing these days.
