Any Japanese cruiser. I find their imitation of Harley Davidson embarrassing to be seen on in public and annoying to ride.
If I want to ride a Harley, I will (and do) ride a Harley, not a copy that does not quite "get it". (And if you want to tell me your Jap cruiser has more power, overhead cams, better handling etc, etc, you don't quite "get it" either.) If I want to ride a ricer, I will (and do) ride one that goes fast, corners well and is not trying to imitate something else. But a ricer modeled on a Harley is the one and only bike I would say I would never spend my own money on. I'll ride anything else, including a 150cc step through, and have fun.

I would never buy anything heavier than about 150kg/330lbs. I also won't buy anything with a piss poor power to weight ratio or cheap suspension/brakes.
That rules out a lot of bikes. My current KTM is 140kg and I wish it was lighter. But it ticks all my boxes and next purchase will probably be a newer model of same bike, unless I dip my toes into trials riding, or some other manufacturer makes a serious competitor to the 690.

I will not buy a bike that has the motor/transmission/swing-arm elastomer mounted to the frame. Too many compromises are required for this type of design; weight and handling are compromised for comfort.
cheers, melby

Every dollar spent on advertising will (or at least should) result in more than a dollar in sales, which indirectly increases the R&D budget. R&D on the other hand is money flushed down the toilet unless you spend it wisely. It's not something you can throw endless money at and expect a good return for your cash (you'll start inventing stuff that never reaches a shipping product). I'm pretty sure almost every manufacturer with a large R&D budget spends more on advertising than R&D.

Sport bikes: I simply do not enjoy riding them. I also have a very hard time dealing with the way they look. They remind me of giant insects.
MTS1100: The front faring looks like like they hot glued the front of a Kawasaki Versus to the top box from a Honda Goldwing.

I think that would make an excellent trade in against a Triumph 800xc.
