But that just changed - I've got an appointment this Thursday to get the bike tuned. Now all I have to do is get the filter installed and ride it 280 miles to the dyno

A few questions for CJ....
I have a 2011 990 Adv Dakar edition with a 2-into-1 Remus TI can (~3,000 miles, stock mapping). I have no issues with the FI map. Bike runs great with no hickups or blips. Gas mileage is probably around 32-35 MGP. I looked at the TuneECU site and found no tunes for the Dakar edition (stock, Remus, or CPR).
So, specific questions about the CPR filter: 1. Must the SAS be removed in order to install the filter? 2. What is the impact if the filter is used without re-mapping the FI (other than not getting the full gain in HP and Torque). In other words, will running the bike without re-mapping cause damage because the mix will be too rich/lean?

1) - Yes. 2) - You would be running leaning than stock as the bike is getting much more air. Be best to richen the setup. Just b/c you are going richer does not mean you should get worse gas mileage if you keep the air mixture correct. I have gone a lot richer on our 950s and still seeing the same MPG as you with this CPR setup b/c it is getting so much more air.

Got it. So If I remove the SAS, do I need the Solenoid Emulation Plug? Or is it enough to use the TuneECU to switch off the SAS?

950 install
CJ,
I installed your kit on my '05 950 Adventure and everything went great, until I tried putting the seat back on. It is sitting on the rear side of filter. I did get it to close down, but it is pushing down on the filter. Has anyone else had this problem? On another note, I did jet the carbs - 170 front, 175 rear, needle 3rd position, air mixture screw 1 3/4 and it runs great. Bigmurph |

Here's a pic showing the contact on my seat. Not enough to worry about for me.
![]() If you have more than that I suggest looking at your install.

I have a similar contact to mine as well, 04 950.
Doesn't bother me and I seriously doubt it would be an issue with performance or function

CJ-
What about the upgrade base plates? Should we contact you or wait for something from you? I was already looking to get the outer filter. This may be the right time for it. Tom.

More info here: http://www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=821174 ..... busy doing a valve check on the 950 before I hit the road. I will be gone Sept 1- 25th. Hope to see many of you in Bend, OR. We have the outer Foam Pre-filters in stock. But we don't stock the "Replacement" Bases. If you want the Base sent to you with a new order from us I can do that, but I will need your info and add that to a filter stocking order for the shop. At this time any CJ Designs ordering customers wanting this option will need to wait until I get home unfortunately as I will need to handle this directly. Please email me by Thurs, Aug 30th, if you are interested and also send me your reciept info, or copy so that I can give that to CPR easily to get this taken care of asap. Please call me if you have any questions. I'll do what I can with the time I have left. Very sorry for any inconvenience at this time, but I need to ride too. See you on the trail.thanks, craig

I contacted CPR directly about getting a map for my 990 - they let me know about the updated base plate. Sent them an email today about getting one & immediately got a paypal invoice to pay for S&H for the new plate. Seems like great customer service. I will probably buy another kit for my SE sooner or later!

We currently have all the CPR Filter kits and pre-filters in stock!
As are finishing up this season riding.... Leaves are falling and snow is just around the corner, I wanted to give a little feedback on this season and the CPR System on our bikes. I have over 20,000 miles on the CPR system so far. It's been great. Servicing the bike on trips and working on it in general has saved me a lot of time. After a weeks worth or dust and trails, I could pull off and install a new Filter skin by poping off the seat. Taking less than 10 min. I love it. Water has been our most asked question of concern. What I have found with camping, letting the bike sit out in storms is: With the seat on, down pours are shedded to the side by the seat and glove box. With a foam pre-filter or filter skins "oiled" this sheds at least 95% of the water off the filter when riding in the rain. I have not had any water related issues. When if comes to deep water holes.... Well take a look at this from our last trail session. The hole was a little deeper than Joe thought. Bike fired up and ran, he was a in 2nd gear getting out of the hole. Rekluse EXP worked great. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q40J6...yer_detailpage At this time I am offering a "CJ Designs CPR Special" Order a CPR Filter system for any bike. 1)Get a set of CJD SAS plates for $19. 2)Get a KTM Tune ECU Cable for $45 3)Get a CPR foam pre-fiter for the standard filters for $25 4)Get a set of 3 Filter skins for the Domed filter for $15 You can add ONE, TWO, THREE or ALL of these promos to your order! And get FREE Shipping in the USA. Special rate for Outside USA. EMAIL me "craig @ cj Designs llc.com" with your ADVrider name and what parts you are interested in. NO PMs. This is through CJ Designs Direct. Have a great Fall!
