Ottawa DR650 Riders
Hi Ottawa DR650 riders, We are increasing in numbers over the past couple of years and should have a place to get together.![]() I've started a thread on ADV for local Ottawa DR650 Riders to: - discuss DR650 modifications - exchange parts and ideas - try out eachothers mods before doing our own - help each other with troubleshooting and tuning - pass along information on good deals on parts (group buys perhaps?) - find riding buddies - organize some rides This thread is not to replace any of the existing Ottawa, DR650 or ride threads on ADV or elsewhere. This is not a club or exclusive group, just a place to meet and talk local DR650Cheers,

I bet we will - but not on the DRs. The BMWs have more capacity for heated gear of course.

No problem shipwrek I lurk everywhere on ADV
I like to pretend my DR is a dirt bike sometimes and for short rides I do alright. The Algonquin 2 Day trail ride after the rain last year was pushing it (literally) a bit too far. I also enjoy twisty pavement rides so long as I don't have to go more than 120 for any length of time to keep up. My DR is a 2001 model baught new in 2002 but as you all know '96 to '12 are all the same until we get creative. Here for your amusement is my mod list: - Dynojet kit and opened top of air box - Twin Air air filter - NGK Iridium spark plugs - loctite on the NSU screws - GSXR muffler with FMF spark arrestor screen - DR250 tail light - removed lower fender - LED stick on licence light - Seat Concepts seat - IMS tank - EvoMx Fuel tank foam - Ricochet (Utah sport cycle) skid plate - headlight relays with direct wire to battery - Fastway foot-pegs - Galfer wave rotors - Galfer steel front brake hose - Cogent Dynamics rebuilt shock - Race Tech Cartridge Emulators - Ebach .47 kg/mm fork springs - extended fuel screw - Dual Star heated grips - home made bar risers - OEM Speedo removed - Garmin 60cx as speedo and trip meter - speedo eliminator spacer on front axle - Ken Sean mirrors - Emgo hand protectors with Acerbis wind deflectors - Hippo Hands hand muffs - home made extended lower chain guide - 520 x-ring chain, 15:47 sprockets - ignition switch and steering lock removed - D606 on the rear tire, Pirelli Scorpion Pro front

You will have to head to the Ottawa area (Calabogie or Limerick forest) this summer for a ride to qualify. Otherwise it will be hard for me to try out your bike.
