Airhead GS and G/S only ride?

Would there be interest for an Airhead only ride? I've been toying with the idea for a while. We could limit it to gravel roads like the Motu or similar or do a full on assault on the 42nd :-). Seeing that there is no CCA, I need a replacement ride. During the school holidays would work best for me.

Attending so far:

Richard K
Oscar (waiting for confirmation)

Not at all. There will be a lot of smelling the roses, comparing tire pressures and fuel consumption and discussions on the merits of para lever vs mono lever. We'll be turning people away before you know it.

Don't count with me, couldn't find anything that weighted over 120kg and could be attached to the bike

But they have these convenient lifting pivots (Jugs) to help right the bike..And CoG is low... 220kgs for a paralever

Might be up for this...the dirtier the better.

The KCAR is usually end of April, so maybe a conflict?

That's a little elitist is it?

Why not organise a ride suitable for airhead/gs's, but allow others?

Would someone attending on a Vstrom/KLR/Tenere/super motard cramp your style?

vive la différence!

It's not about that. Airheads can't compete with modern bikes, at best they will keep up. If I lend mine to Birchy, he would do better.

Anyway, is the huge number of airhead only rides really starting to limit your riding options?

Elitist - I like that. makes me feel pretty bloody cool for owning a 20 somethng year old bike

The idea behind it is to get a group of riders together that share a passion for the same type of bikes. It has been going on for a number of years.
Many airheaders also own other bikes. If it wasn't an airhead only ride then it would be just another adv ride and you prob wouldn't get any airheads going as the tracks & pace would prob not be suited to them.

If you really wanted to hear about valeo vs bosch starters, mono extensions & shock placements, which pipe tobacco breathes freelier etc etc you must be sadder than us.

Yiou could organise an alternative ride the same weekend & we probably wouldn't be offended.
