Utah Riding
I spent the weekend riding Eastern Utah. Truly breathtaking.
Man, I've ridden my FLHRc in over 15 countries, and Utah had some of the most beautiful riding that I've ever seen. A couple quick snaps: ![]() Monument Valley ![]() Hole in the Rock ![]() I forgot the cardinal rule in sand - never look down, oops. Rider error, overall, the bike's pretty capable in the sandy patches.

I was re-reading your south American odyssey last night and wishing I had the nuts to abuse my bike the way you do. Every time I hear about people fussing about re-sale value and "high mileage" and how HDs aren't riders' machines I think of your Road Kind, river crossings and sliding down the road.

I admire where you have rode your FLHRC truly impressive, hope you keep posting.. Why does your bike looks small next to you, or is it an illusion?

Last Friday I traded my 08 Fat Bob with 10K miles for a new 12 RK standard. It rained most of the weekend but by this time tomorrow I will have knocked out my 500 mile break in riding back and forth to work (8 mi each way) and can run it up past 60 mph. This bike is so much smoother going down the road than Fat Bob was. I thought this burly behemoth would be a chore riding around town but I was wrong. It is a bit more of a struggle for some parking maneuvers but the ride makes up for that. Looking forward to Sat when I'll ride to Destin for lunch then back home so will be a good 300ish mile day. There is nothing I've discovered about his bike that I don't like.

King of the Road (and occasional stream...)
My '06 Road King FLHRI, purchased new in Santa Barbara, California, presently resides on the Blue Ridge Parkway, Virginia, has been around the country several times, and is just a few miles shy of 60,000 mi (97,000 km) as of last Sunday's ride in the rain. My fifth Harley, and one of the best motorcycles I've ever owned. The other four H-D's are long gone, but this one's going with me.

Picked up this 2009 Road King with 900kms a couple of weeks ago. My first Harley Davidson, very impressed and glad I paid a bit more for the updated model.....
