Same conclusion I came to after weeks of stressing. Order a set of tires, load up the bike and just ride. Figure it out on the way...

I went to the post office today to get the tires weighed and what a fiasco!! Dude kept trying to lay them flat on the little weigh tray,I was gently suggesting he may want to stand it upright holding it with his finger, but he refused to acknowledge me.

He went into the back and came out with a piece of cardboard which he then lay flat with the tire on it and tried to balance it that way. He refused to place the tip of his finger on top of the tire because he said the weight of his finger would be there but made no mention of the weight of a piece of cardboard on the scale......hmmmmm

Then to his horror I picked up the rear and wanted that wieghed as well.....I thought he was going to go .....POSTAL!!!!!!

Then he lay the big rear down flat, trying to balance it on that little tray....what an idiot.....

So anyway.....Canada Post from Port Hope On to Dawson City........85.00

I highly recommend riders call Alaska Leather @ 907-562-2324 or The Abby @ 907-376-6919 and tell them what tires you want in what size and then if you buy from them they will have 'em in Dawson waiting for you.

Good luck, Mark H.

what AKdoc is suggesting is that you can buy tires from an AK vendor. since the suggested vendors are going to D2D, the tires will make it to Dawson by sag wagon for little or no extra $$$.... works good if you are there around D2D

That's what I'm planning to do.

Perhaps go to the post office and see what you get told. theshnizzle seems to have been served by a so-so POST Canada drone.

I actually want my bf to go there on Friday with a set of tires to be shipped and see what happens. It was such typical goverment apathy and not willing to try to " think outside the box"

Anyway, thanks to Friar Mike,I will take your suggestion and run with , go from there. Those who will be at D2d doing tires, from when to when will you be there? I have a loose plan,I am pretty sure I will give the Dempster a go before the rally.

Just not to sure when yet,I never really plan anything to much,actually......

Theshnizzle...I would strongly suggest better tires for the Dempster than street tires.....if it gets wet you will be in a bad situation imho on street tires doing the Dempster....If it stays dry....no problem if you can comfortably run rough gravel etc.
Just a friendly thought.....as for the tires....I fired my helper....so will take the tires to the post office today....I need a rest any way.

Seems as though people forgot about the source, The Motorcycle Shop!

As it has already been posted, Mike is taking his VW bus up to help people with tire changes, I'd hop on that bandwagon too.

We STOCK a full range of dual sport for every dual sport bike out there. TKC80's and Tournaces are always in stock, as are Saharas, Karoos, Anakee's, and a few others.

Don't hesitate to give us a call!

Hi Brendan, I posted earlier that I am limited to about a choice of 3 tires, that will fit my bike. Scorpian Trails, M60 's or something, I don't remeber now and ,frack, I forget the other one.

Willy's, I am trying to find a tire that will do double duty, the tires that will fit my bike are like,90 street 10 dirt ect ect.
It looks like I am going with the Scropians.....and ,clearly, I have to bring my tires to the post office local to you.
