Yea, it's on the list now.
Never been there yet but I'm going one day soon. You did a great job on the RR. This is the kind of place I would love to go. A lot of dirt and some great scenery and a fairly peaceful existance. What a concept.
Thanks for sharing.

Hey kobukan,
Thanks for sending me your GPS tracks a couple months ago...we followed 1 or 2 of them on our trip. We spend 17 days and got back earlier this month. We went to a lot of the same sights, like the cabin at Laguna Hansen but we paid $70 and they would not budge on the price (but there was 5 of us total): https://picasaweb.google.com/jacob.k...37235846831826 Our trip didn't go as smooth as yours I wouldn't say! I didn't realize it until we were on the road but I tore the bead of my D606 and within a hour into the trip I was on the side of the road outside of Tecate. I can say from experience that it's very hard to find a 17" tire in Baja so feel good that you didn't have to deal with that! |

Thanks for the kind words guys.
blacktruck: I sure hope you get your chance to go there one day soon. "A lot of dirt and some great scenery and a fairly peaceful existence" - I like that description. skeelo221: Glad you were able to make use of some of the tracks. Sorry to hear about your tire problem, but 17 days in Baja must have been great. I read somewhere recently that $70 is the standard rate for a cabin at Laguna Hanson so I guess I was pretty lucky. But, didn't they tell you - your supposed to park the bike on the porch.

That Canyon de Guadalupe has intrigued me for years as a camping spot to park for about a week and relax. I'm trying to learn more about it. Internet? Food supply? Fire wood? I have to dig back into my links. My past research is a bit fussy.

All I wanted to do was lay in the hot spring for a while, enjoy the scenery and get some sleep - so I really don't know what else is available there, but it sure seems like a good place to relax for a while. I think you can find some more info easy enough if you Google it.
