Still in ..

.. just touching base .. Hey Joe .. I'm still in .. my vacation request is approved and the wife is good with getting me out of the house for a few days .. I am planning on camping if there is a hole in the ground to put my tent over .. lol .. not set on arrival time yet ..

@ Dan .. Dan, I sent you a PM already .. I work Thursday until 3pm .. if you are planning on heading out Thursday evening/night let me know and maybe we can work it out that way and ride out .. lol .. I guess I should ask if you are riding or hauling?? ..

... at the latest I'll be heading over early Friday am, though I may wander all over the place (BRP) before I get there .. lol .. if I slab it over I'll need to stop and swap out some sprockets before I hit the cabins .. lol ..

.. it is tempting to hit the trails on Friday .. hmmmmmmm .. 14t front sprocket huh?? .. time for a little internet ordering I think .. I still got a new 43t rear sprocket (I doubt the 16t/39t combo would make it up the driveway) ..

My wife says there will be nationally known belly dancers there and that the performance will be family friendly. Tickets are $5 at the door. I will be there of course and thought it would be an interesting addition to our rally.

Just did a re-check of the folks coming and we're up to 13 riders. Hope no one is superstitious.

I was hoping to ride the KLR for Saturday's ride but it has developed a sudden thirst for oil these past few days and I don't know if I can carry enough oil to keep from burning up my head. Already did that once. I'll be ordering a 658 kit soon but probably won't have it together in time for this. Looks Iike I'll be running the DR 350 both days. Could be worse things.

Well you superstitios FF's can relax. We have a 14th rider. My friend and partner in the cabins, Rob is planning on joining us on his GS. He's even up for joining us on Friday. Rob is a really good rider and he loves a challenge. Should make for some really good pics so be sure to bring your GoPro lostmarbles.

Joe

Wicked Yep, Im comin', Hide your whisky.

You all don't know me but I am Joe's partner in crime in the cabin business.
Just got off the phone with Joe and he said there is room for one more.. The wife has approved me for a leave of absence so it is a done deal.
Should arrive from KC around noon on Friday.
Do I get the long distance award? The Cabins are about 850 miles from my home.

Save some dirt for me. See you all soon!

I'll save a little Knob Creek for you as long as you don't show me up on the ride.
You may not even remember you had any marbles by the time you head out on Sunday...

Remember... FAMILY FRIENDLY. If I don't behave then my wife will tighten the leash.

Joe is a great guy and a good friend. Being partners in the cabin business I an ashamed that I have not been able to make any of the previous rides. This is my year. As for Family Friendly, I talk a good game but a campfire, and a bourbon on ice after nice days ride leeds early bed time. I really look forward to meeting everyone.

Hey Wingam00, Southwest GA and Western NC, man you must really take the long way to the cabins I am just hoping that my old rear end isn't too tender to enjoy the Friday and Saturday ride.

Actually not sure that I will even make it in time for the Friday ride. Leaving Thursday AM but my past experience says that I will have to stop around Knoxville for the night. Joe said he would give me info so I may be able to hookup with the group in the afternoon.
