Ride report

You really have a way of telling the history and tieing in the present. I love the photos of old, new and the aerial shots as well. Quite informative and very entertaining. I very much enjoyed this report. Thanks for taking me along.

Thanks for the report. It makes me want to go back there and do more exploring.Perhaps the tourism board could give you a stipends. I wish I had looked around Marathon when I was there. But I just camped and moved on. I did have a great marguerita at the Gage, though. I look forward to more of your reports.

Thanks Henry! It is an interesting area. Inform and entertain was the mission so I guess it worked out.

Thanks! The Gage looks like a pretty nice place for being in a town of 450 folks. Hope all this adds a little to your next trip to area. Plenty to explore for sure!

Thanks for the great ride report. My wife and I are currently staying in Marathon and riding our DR 650"s back and forth to the park. Your RR is a great tool for planning our rides.

Perfect! I hope this is making your visit a little richer with the background info and such. While you are there, can you check on some property in Progress City for me?

If nothing else, I hope it proved to be entertaining to at least a few folks.

I'll put a post here with a link to a related GPX file that people can download to use in their planning or on a ride. I'll get to that in a day or two once I get it polished up.

I'm no Big Bend expert, but I'll be happy to answer questions or offer additional information if I can.

Many thanks for taking an interest in this report and riding along!
Thanks! I really enjoyed the report. I'm a big history buff, so all the detail about the history of the area made the ride all the more interesting for me. Nicely done!
