It's a shame the DeltaWing was taken out by a brutally bad bit of driving. I've seen very little video of it racing.

Nope, one of the Toyota cars was flipped on its ass real good by a Ferarri and sent hurling into the tires at a rather scary pace. Karma baby. Although the Ferarri was a bad move too

Anthony Davidson. Papers say he has two broken vertebrae in his back. nasty looking shunt.

I understand that visibility is really bad in those cars. They need proximity warning devices.

I think the issue was more driver related than the visibility in the cars. If you watch you see the prototype past the Ferrari. Similar accident to the two last yr, also with the Ferrari's and that time the Audi's. The driver pairings are different in the lower classes; a few ''gentlemen'' racers mixing it with the pros in prototypes with vastly different performance levels lends itself to these types of accidents.

So tragic, yet heroic at the same time. You have to feel for them!

Yup, got models of both as well. Jack Clark and Jim Hall: both heroes of mine. Saw both of them race at Laguna Seca when I was a just a skinny kid sneaking in through the rifle ranges.

What a dope I am. I was hugely saddened when he died in the Formula 2 testing accident and here I mis-state his name. Jim Clark was all the things Jackie Stewart wanted to be.

If you've lived in CA a long time, Jack Clark was a first baseman for the Giants. Easy name mistake. I'm brutal with names, I Google everything!
