Pond Hockey - Yeah Man
Well thanks to the cold spell in the Northeast, me & kids are able to play pond hockey
![]() ![]() I used to do this all the time when I was a kid, when we used to actually have a Winter. I grew up in North NJ & now live in Pa (Lehigh Valley) But as most know, most Winters are not that cold anymore, nor do we get that much snow either. At least around here. So if I can't ride, at least some ice fun! Kids had a great time. Well we were out the last 2 daze, perfectly sunny & no wind ![]() Some of my kids ![]() My son & his friends

Got to take my daughter out for some pond hockey on Sunday. The snowfall got to be a little bit of a distraction though

Yeah, I love it too. For the last number of years it's been my favorite form of hockey, mostly playing with/against dogbrother Comet.
![]() I'm only wearing the Blackhawks jersey because being an Alaska Native I like the logo and in part because I grew up a few doors down from Scotty Gomez who helped them win the Stanley Cup a couple times. These pics are from a year or 2 ago. As you are reading this, Comet and I are celebrating 17yrs together on Feb 1st! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() We even got our pic in the paper. Over the years people have told us we should be in America's Funniest Home Videos. Warmest regards from way up north, Mark & Comet

Good thread.
Mark and Comet- you both ROCK! BTW, here in New Hampshire (Meredith) for the next 3 days - http://www.pondhockeyclassic.com/page/show/247460-new-england-pond-hockey-classic. Pretty cool but it starts to become too organized and pond hockey is the opposite. On the subject, anybody read "Home Ice" by Jack Falla? Good book |

I should have my skates sharpened. Every city park has an open sheet for skating and a boarded area for pickup games.
I should really stick to boot hockey, but falling on my ass is more fun.
