I don't have risers, I have Renthal trials bars with a 6" rise. Actually I do have risers- the cheapo ones on eBay for the txt bikes. I think they're an inch. I don't find any issues with handling. I run them at a neutral position. If I want to quicken the steering I'll rotate them forward a hair.
Thanks for the info

This is interesting:

Naturally I've heard of the Alp before - often discussed here and elsewhere. Never heard of the ST.

My "kids" are too big to ride as passengers on this bike. Both are 6' tall and would need a bike of their own.

Something I noticed today while wheeling it around in the driveway; the chain is adjusted tight as a drum. IMO that is not good. Unless there is something different about Trials bikes I am going to give it some slack.

The seat is great. I want one. My kids are still perfectly sized for such shenanigans.

From what I understand you can get a seat/tank for the Montesa Cota 4RT or the Beta Evo or Rev 3.

Yep. One is available for my Scorpa too. No passenger pegs or street legal potential though. I'd seen the newer 4S Alp previously but this is the first I've seen the 2S. I'm not going to go out hunting for one but if one were to pop up locally I'd be very interested. Looks like a nice find - I think you'll enjoy it.

Yeah, they seem fairly rare in the 2 stroke version. I did a CL search using a CL search tool that searches as many CL cities in the USA as you want, including e-bay, and the only one I found was the one I bought.

I wasn't searching for it though when I found it, I just found it on CL one day. I occasionally look through their motorcycle ads to see if there is anything there that I can't pass up - like a mad ex-wife selling her ex-husband's Christini, or Norton, or Vincent for $1000, or something like that.

This PO has a stable of bikes but is moving onto a sailboat so needs to cut down his bikes to two.

I am not too interested in using this as a street legal bike, that is just icing on the cake and makes it so I won't get hassled by a gung-ho Forest Service Ranger and I can ride it into town to get gas, etc.

Your chain does look tight. Slack it until that adjuster is a hair away from the swingarm, but not touching.

Lewisport has some 4RT seat/tank combos in stock right now. If I had one I would buy one ASAP before they disappear.

The ST was short for Super Trial. Not many sold, most trials riders just went with the Techno.

Nice looking bike CodeMonky,,now I know what parts are gone from mine.
When it was new, my '96 had signals, and the speedo on the fork and all the cool stuff yours has.
I may have to fab up that rack,, unless I sell the bike first.
I'm almost convinced my knees aren't gonna take to riding it without resulting pain, or more damage.
Here's my '96 all put back together and ready to roll.

BTW,,I am having no issues using non-ethanol premium and I'm mixing Motul all synthetic at 50:1 for dorking around on trails,,could probably go more gas to mix, but I don't mind if it smokes a bit.
