Best seat for DR650
Alright so 2 years ago I blew out 3 discs in my back by being run over by a boat in New Zealand... on the mend finally and after selling my 1150GSA my DR is ready to get out and play... But I'm thinking the seat upgrade will be the critical spring upgrade(IMS tank, new pipe and jetting, aluminum bars and a few more things done a couple years before).
Obviously heard the Corbin is the way to go, but looking for any other suggestions before I buy. Thanks and glad to be back in the craziness! Be safe.

Seat concepts is the only way to go, way more comfy than a corbin and a whole lot less money and no long waits like some of the other seat makers, look up the reviews in the venders section. http://seatconcepts.com/ I put one on a DR350 and love it, all day rides are no problem at all.

Second the Seat Concepts plug! I have one on mine and wife has one on her XT225, awesome seats and great people to deal with. Installed both seat kits in less than half an hour. Went from being uncomfortable for any more than 30 miles to being able to ride all day in comfort!

Air Hawk is the most comfortable solution
Can be a little inconvenient and subject to theft if you are using the bike for a commuter.
I rode 7000 kms off road in 16 days last year and it was brilliant. |

I'm still trying to make up my mind, too. For the money I don't think Seat Concepts can be beat, worked a miracle for the WR250R I used to have.
I was also impressed with the Sargent seat on a BMW I owned back in the day. Parts Unlimited carries Sargent now, so the prices have come down considerably. And my husband is very happy with the TPI seat he bought for his '05. Now I reckon Saddlemen is coming out with a new line of dual sport seats to add to the mix. Sarah

Go with Seat Concepts. Just put one on my DRZ 400. Much better than stock. Good quality too.

Stock seat = 75 miles pull over and stretch.... Stock seat with ATV pad from Walmart = 200+ no problems.

I'm thinking of going with a Seat Concepts kit for my DR. The looks of the embossed top & smooth sides looks good to me.
Not sure if a Sargent is that much better for the extra $$ but.. I did find a place with a good price on a new Sargent : http://www.chrome-addiction.com/g-sa...6-09-31028.php All I can say is the stock seat needs to go.... |

Not a fair comparison from a design standpoint, but the Fisher's reworked seat on my Dr650 is more comfortable than my seat concepts on my 690. That's not to say that fisher could make my 690 better than the seat concepts or that the seat concepts dr650 seat isn't as good as the Fisher's. I can highly recommend them both, and they are both about the same cost.

For those with a Sargent seat on the DR, does it fit well on the bike? Sargent or SC
