I like them, and use them with a Bell Custom 500 for commuting.

I started wearing them in the late '90's... and still do. I've bought a few pair over the years to have different lenses (I like the gradient ones). I even had one pair fitted with Rx Transition lenses, although they are so curved, it creates a bit of distortion.
I've never broken a pair, though- they are pretty tough.
I don't think they still make the ones I wear (model is called Demora).

Would you say they are worth the price tag ?? I wear oakley plantiff squared polarized and Have old pair of inmate and hijinx. But the inmate and plantiffs don't get close enough to the face for my liking.

I had injury induced cataract surgery in 2010 and need glasses that hug the countour of muh face .

Think the gators will work ? I was looking at the magnum or the boxters .

Gatorz Sunglasses are very Good

I have been using Gatorz sunglasses since 2001.
The arms are very thin so they are comfortable with my helmet.
Icicles and Liquids are pretty good, but those brands have temples that are a little thicker. I like the temples to be thin behind my hears.
I can keep them for about 8 years before they wear out.
I have one pair that is prescription, and one pair that is regular that I use with contacts.
www.MetalSunglasses.com made my prescriptions. The lenses are good. I can see on the sides very well.
I have bought my other Gatorz from other companies on the web as I can't find them locally.
If you have over $100 to spend on glasses, you can't do any better for riding.

Do the arms block your peripheral vision when you're checking for traffic over your shoulder?

They don't -- in fact I don't even notice the arms. Some air does still flow around the frames on the ones I wear (Radiators) so they may not fit tightly enough for the OP's purposes. If a really close fit is what you're looking for, Wiley X makes some with both interchangable lenses and an option to switch between glasses-type arms and a goggle strap that have a foam seal around each eye like goggles.

I do like the Gatorz, and while they are really expensive, to me they're worth the cost. I have a pair of dark smoke ones for daytime riding, and a clear pair for night.
