How'd your tune with Colin go? Has that happened already? I should check his blog, but I'm lazy and as far as I'm concerned, there are no other forums besides ADV

It went well. He was here on Thursday, and stayed up to 2AM. My "Chevy" friend, how Colin likes to call him, assembled my fan wrong, and the timing notch was 90 degrees off.. we couldn't get it started for a long time, until we made a new timing mark... I got my old dizzy; works.. just needs a new gasket... so I am going to rebuild it.. shopping for microsquirt parts at the moment.

Alright, with mechanics squared away, I am going to be putting in a microsquirt computer. The computer has been ordered, and hopefully it arrives here within days. Time to start picking up sensors, and bits of pieces needed to complete the conversion.

Doesn't look too bad, maybe go down 1 step in the heat range?

At 103k miles my brake master cylinder finally decided to call it a day while I was messing with my idle fuel ratio. Long story short, but you can affect idle fuel ratio by actuating the brake. Additional air would get sucked into intake plenum therefore bypassing the air flow meter, and you would get a leaner mixture.

I decided to take this opportunity to refresh my complete brake system.

With HoodkaGuy, Geek and others being so active with their van threads, I decided to take some pictures, and some thoughts while rebuilding the system.

Pictures soon to follow.

This parts fiche is as close as OEM as it gets. I wanted to rebuild my brakes, and while there I decided to go ahead and work on the clutch master, and slave, as it was starting to fail as well. Not bad for 30 years of constant pounding.

I may have to order front caliper rebuild kit as well, but more on that later.

With my trusty Kobalt Impact the wheels came off in no time, The shoes look healthy, but way out of adjustment. I got new shoes, and a spring kit.

The first order of business is to get the brake fluid out. Note to self, don't serve the wife. Drink responsibly.

With master cylinder completely drained I decided to take a "brake".
