skid plate
the skid plate on the black bike is the Hyde Racing plate with 4 bolts connecting it to the motorcycle. it takes a little time to mount and take off but it is bomber. virtually indestructible.
the skid plate on the white bike is KTM hardparts plastic with one bolt mounting system. plastic seems strong enough but the mount is for the birds! this plate went flying across the desert repeatedly over the last two days. i wouldn't recommend this plate to anyone that might actually use it for it's intended purpose. |

Does anyone know how the e-line carbon skid plate mounts on the XCW?

I'd recommend against CF skid plates. In my experience they start to come apart after repeated hits over the years. They are pretty the first week of riding though.

I'm not too worried about it looking like shit.. the reason I was asking if anyone had seen it is that photo makes it look like it wraps around far more (i..e better protection).
I'm still waiting for the skidplate that protects the fuel tank's disconnect

Sorry if someone mentioned this already, but Harcus here on ADV makes a nice looking fiberglass bash plate.
http://advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=742360 He goes in to a lot of his logic for materials and what not there. It'd be hard to find a skidplate that covers more engine than that I think.

They wear through after awhile. I wore through the one on my old 300 to the frame rails.

Given the height of the riser/topclamp, is the Odometer display fully visible with rider in seated position ? |

Geek-
Beautiful work on the wiring. Always nice to see a professional job. It appears that the HDB website is out of date, did you just give them a call to get the lower clamp with the sub-mount? Also is the guard for the factory dash new as well? I have an EXC and I'm interested in both of those things. I chose the EXC over the XC-W becuase I could ride it immediately. The extra money, to me, was worth saving the hassle and waiting involved in getting a XC-W legal. Yes, I'll be re-gearing it, though probably not as extreme as the XC-W, and the de-smog will happen once I get the bolt to plug the head. It wasn't included with my bike. helotaxi screwed with this post 04-15-2012 at 08:07 AM |

What happened to this thread
Ill tell ya what happened "we" were all smart and got XCW's
and didnt get the EXC's . So we are all out riding and ejoying except for Paul who is as usual but does that really suprize anyone. As a result of our intelliect we dont have any of the problems the whiners on the EXC thread are going threw! on ectomys, FI mapping, gearing etc..... ![]() Some people just don't ever learn. They dont take the time to investigate and instead of making well informed decision they say if its good enough for *** its good enough for me. HA
