2013 Dakar Pre-Event Discussion

I do not have cable TV. So what little of DAKAR they do show on TV in the US. I am not going to get to see.

My question, Is this going to be the thread where I can see all the days high light clips?

Also any suggestions on what web sites that are good for following DAKAR (other then www.dakar.com)?

one last thing love the videos that are already hear.

Come January, there will be more than a few other threads for Dakar. I am planning for full daily coverage via my twitter feed and blog as time allows. As far as TV coverage goes, might want to check previous discussions on how to get a hold of the Eurosport feeds. I find them the most enjoyable to watch. A few inmates even get a mention here and there each year.

This forum will, by far, be the most up to date and highest volume source during those two weeks.

Today i wrote to peru tv. Last years finish was fine to watch.
But i asked for a better stream.
Also for a stream that i can copy in Videolan VLCplayer.

Nice about VLCplayer it is not browser related. and you can opem multiple times (sreens).

However unlike last year I don't think I will engineer a few weeks off work by throwing my bike down the road, which means I won't be able to follow the race 24/7 but will actually have to go to work

Yeah me too Mad Cow. No hernia surgery to recover from this year so I'll only be a casual F5er. (Well I'll miss the late nights following the Dakar but not the sensation of being stabbed in the groin with a hot knife that my recovery entailed! )

A good idea deserves a sequel, so thought Hugo Payen. The Frenchman did for the Dakar Rally 2013 in the significant race number '69 'worm. To his Dakar adventure to finance Payen has again secured the sponsorship of French porn producer Marc Dorcel.

Payen came last year when the distribution of the starting numbers on the idea Dorcel approaching. The porn producer was interested in and decided to sponsor the Frenchman. One consideration was that the engine Payen had to put a picture of the porn actress Anna Polina.

Miss Dakar # 69
This year, fans on the Facebook page Dorcel choose which lady in 2013 the engine Payen would adorn. Claire Castel was eventually preferred with 395 votes for Liza del Sierra (229), Polina (160) and Angell Summers (139).

as we approach the links will appear for video. Your best up to date info will come from here in the racing forum. The "official" dakar threads will appear the day of or day before the race. Find a comfy chair, get a good mouse, and a couple of screens. And hold on.

Here's a good video with highlights from last year. I'd expect the link to be the same for this year. Even if you don't speaky, the footy is good.

Welcome to my world . In here you get Portuguese over cable (adsl, whatever). Last year to go around, I subscribed to the Eurosport online thing. Allegedly it would allow me to get the English voice over by choosing it on a settings combo box. No way, it would not work and I got the same Portuguese comments I have on cable. Wrote them, got an automated answer and nothing else.
