The breaking news of the day is that Marc Coma may not be fit enough for Dakar. He is dropping all appearances this week to concentrate on rehabbing his shoulder and is holding a press conference on Friday to make the official determination. Word is it's not looking good.

So, after getting very frustrated with being unable to find any information on the Dakar site itself (or facebook page, or even direct messaging @dakarofficial on twitter) about where I can watch coverage of this year's rally, I came to advrider. Not only a discussion about this issue, but some good information.

Last year in the US the rally hilights were broadcast in the same way - a late night 30 minute or 60 minute (I can't remember) hilights and overview of the standings / timings etc...

The problem is, I can't find anything on the NBC Sport network site that indicates they are actually going to do this - not a press release, or anything. Aside from Robby's comment on his site I can't find anyone else to corroborate this.

But it only runs through January 1, 2013 as of today, so in a few days time hopefully it'll list something.

Has anyone else been able to find details around the US coverage of the event? I can't believe the official site doesn't have details around coverage for markets it's going to be televised in... maybe I'm missing something?

This really is the best place for coverage. It's gotten better every year and now the F5 jockeys know what's going on even before those who are IN the rally. At least for the motos.

I've always wondered if such a place exists for the cars and trucks. My guess would be that there is a Dutch site or forum that covers everything in the trucks but I am not sure.
