I am gutted for Coma.

Now, moving on, it seems Pedrero becomes top dog in that half of the team, and I am very curious to see how he will do.
Speed? check. Experience? check. Top notch support? check again.

Question is, will KTM will delegate Pedrero's water carrier duties to one of the "second tier" KTM riders (Svitko, Kuba, Curtis etc), or do they make him the water carrier again for, say, Chaleco, who has been on the verge of alien-ship for the last few years?

This really is gonna be an interesting Dakar...

How many years has he been Comas water carrier?

Will they reward loyalty?

I have often wondered how Coma or Despres water boys would go if they were given the green light to go for it, both have shown they can ride with the best of them.

I know it's a bit 'off topic' but I hop no-one minds me giving a quick plug for Pyndon's Dakar fund raising. He has a KTM team T-shirt on ebay which was signed by both Marc Coma and Cyril Despres at the Milan bike show last month - less than an hour to go ..............

Would make an awesome Christmas gift !

A damn sham for Coma.
He had a point to prove this year ...

That'd be terrible for Pedrero.
He has much more loyalty points then Chaleco who was the competition a moment ago.

For me, Chaleco is the dark horse this year, and now with Mike Comba out, Pedrero also has a realistic chance for a win.
It'd be a shame if corporate intrest kicks in and they favor CdP.

You'd be surprised at how many rear wheels you can squeeze into one of those costumes

I tried to stay away, too busy this year to keep up in a dignified way, but my hands unconsciously navigated here...

Here's to another excellent F5 storm in the days to come!....

So, Coma's out... I say Despres will have a field trip, alien nominations aside...

Just a month earlier, which was the main sponsor of the team of Marc Coma announced that Catalan was set at 100% to attack the Dakar Rally in full conditions. Well no. Marc was not ready then, nor now. Marc Coma has failed to recover in time lead despite a busy schedule controlled by its Dexeus Clinic physicians, Dr. Mir-, and also different physios with whom he has been working every day the last two months in the High Performance Centre Sant Cugat del Valles (CAR).

"For not being 100% is better not to go" said Marc The Dakar is a test wearing too much to be at a disadvantage. It's dangerous, too. Life has too much value to risk it for more than eight hours on the bike for 15 days.

Everything seemed fine, yes, but several aspects have to jump the alarm. One of them, the cancellation of the training planned for this month of December AMV team (Coma and Pedrero) in Morocco. Something was wrong, and that Marc could not stand the pain that made him one of the affected nerves shoulder.

This week the alarm was raised when he canceled his participation in the official Red Bull-organized the main sponsor and Marc-team in Madrid. They started the investigations, and although Marc took the call we did and we said that "everything is going." But he did not confirm his involvement, saying he would speak at the team presentation in Barcelona.

But the presentation format changed and what should be a regular act at this time, a meeting with the press, it became a unique statement of Marc without possibility of subsequent interviews. Eat It became clear that we would say no ...

Now, to recover for a difficult year. The Dakar without Marc Coma is not a great Dakar.

Rubbish news to not have Coma to stick it to that horrible frenchy

Not as much talk of Johnny Campbell as i thought there would be, i really think he can be a contender. People seem to forget he got a top 10 way back in 2001 or '02??

And for Pete's sake can we ditch this stupid "alien" monicker??? it's bad enough hearing it all day in the motoGP conversations.
