If you are, in fact, making a pass, no one will ever hear another word from me.
Inattentive drivers, lazy drivers, "cruising" drivers, are dangerous to everyone. regardless of actions or reactions, inattentive drivers are dangerous. Equally as dangerous is anyone that seems to want to force someone else to do what they do, because they think it's right. Seems to be a plague in this country. |

I live off of a very busy divided 4 lane.
The bad part is, no stop signals, and no crossovers. If you live on the West side of the road and want to go North…guess what lane you are merging into.

That is an unavoidable situation and should not be punished, unless the merging traffic does not conform appropriately.

This kind of stuff happens all the time on Interstate 4.
I actually noticed a difference in areas where there were signs every few miles that said "left lane for passing only, slower traffic keep right". |

agreed
I agree it's just courtesy. Or how about the yahoo who just has to get past you so he can sit 10 feet in front of you for the next mile? My absolute favorite North American stupid human trick is; in very slow moving, almost stop N go traffic, some buttface will tail gate and cut off people just to be in front of you so he can go 5mph 12 feet infront of where he was going 5 mph.
2Tallnwide: Thats pretty bold talk for a one eyed fat man. Thank God for gambling huh, before casinos came around, Mississippi was 50th in everything, now it's Louisiana's turn in the barrel. 49th feels pretty good huh? Paw Paw at 37 years of age, thats quite the accomplishment, when I was a cop working in the Projects I saw a few upright citizens achieve Grandpa at age 30, most only achieved that title at 38-40 so you are ahead of the curve. Bravo. All kidding aside, I'll keep an eye out for ya at Barber Vintage Fest, and Mid Ohio.

Bold??? When I was 275lbs I was in great physical condition, 58" chest and 38" waist, I was an all American football player back in the day. Of course I'm older , and heavier now....indeed fat as you say. I still have two good eyes though, and can still climb all over this drilling rig when I need to. As for Ms, we got an offer on 98 beautiful acres, with a 15 acre lake, two ponds, and a creek running through the back forty. We simply couldn't refuse the offer, or we'd still be living in my home State of Florida. I'd rather live in Mississippi than any northern State though. I hate the cold, and the drivers there are almost as bad as these asshats here in Saudi...I know this because I lived in Florida most of my life... . I could care less what the rankings are, there is good and bad in every State. ![]() Living out here in the sticks is wonderful, folks still do the steering wheel wave, there is no traffic, and my blood pressure is nil..... ![]() Quote:
No need to hold anything out for me in Ohio, if you ever see me there, either my plane crashed, or I took a serious wrong turn somewhere.... YMMV of course....

[QUOTE=Florida Lime;18279444][QUOTE=2tallnwide;18278880]...my cruise was always set at 74 MPH (legal in Florida)
Quote:
There was a little town in Florida that got national exposure for their speed traps, giving folks a ticket for 1 and 2 mph over the limit....Florida changed the law just for them to where they could only write a speeding ticket for 6 mph, and above, a posted limit. Technically they could write a ticket for failure to obey a posted sign, but evidently there is no points taken for those, and the fine wasn't worth the hassle of them writing the ticket...

...you quoted my saying..."I avoid holding up speeders as much as possible"... ![]() The only times I drive in the left lane is passing, or if there is no one behind me and the right lane is garbage...I watch my mirrors and move to the right when traffic does approach though. I hate left lane asshates as much as anyone, but the irate speeders are a lot more fun to debate with...so violent n chit...

We have a section of highway that has 2-lanes going up a steepish grade. If you do the speed limit, or 5 over, you can make the light 3 miles up the hill. Miss it, and you'll sit for a while.
4 out of 5 times, people with under powered cars take up both lanes until the passing lane ends, causing uneccessary delays for the drive home. Clearly, an illegal manuver. I have often thought about pulling into the third lane (oncoming), getting along side the offender, and forcing them into the slow lane with my pickup truck. No, I'm not going to do it. I would be breaking at least three laws, all of them more serious than the slower traffic failing to keep right. I do think about it 4 out of 5 times I drive on that road, though. I ride when I can, because the ability to weave through the rolling road blocks cuts my commute time in half without even breaking the speed limit (OK, not by much, anyway ).
