Went 500ish on a trip to niagara last summer on a goldwing. It's a wing so it's not as much of a challenge ;)

on a V-Strom 1000
Back in 2008, I rode around 944 miles from Orlando, FL to somewhere in northern Indiana. Started at just before 4 am and stopped around 11 pm. I wasn't trying to do 1k miles but to just make time. We (a riding buddy and my dad in his truck) only stopped because we were tired.
My buddy and I rode around 6500-ish miles on that trip. The Orlando to Indiana trip was just the first leg of a mid-West US, Eastern Canada and East coast US tour. Maybe I'll break the 1k distance barrier one day, I'm not necessarily interested in doing an Iron Butt to get a certificate, though. |

I've had many a day in that 400-600 mile range which are pretty easy but have never gone any further than that. Usually when I'm with a group traveling there are one or two guys who start to get cranky if you push too far or hard. If it were just me I'd be fine doing 600+ as long as it wasn't back to back to back or I got a few days off after the big mile days.

Aprilia Caponord back in July, 2004.
aprox. 700 miles Missoula Mt. to Eugene, Oregon Took a total of 13 hours. Left Missoula at 6:00 AM, stopped for breakfast In Lewiston, ID, lunch in Hood River, Oregon. gassed up each time, and one additional gas stop in between breakfast and lunch, and between Lunch and final destination. Normally, I like to do 300-500 mile days. I needed to get home in one day. |

775 miles in 12 hours. NW Arkansas to Santa Fe. 650 of that was on I-40 in OK, TX, and NM. Limited range on my LeMans meant I had to make four fuel stops. At one of the stops, I grabbed a sandwich for lunch. I didn't dally at the fuel stops. The only way I can see making up any time would be a bigger fuel tank and drop the stops to three or two. On another long day, I did 940 miles in 15 hours between Salida CO and NW Arkansas, averaging 62.5 mph. Again, my 160/170 mile range was a limiting factor. I did stop for a sit-down meal at a Subway in Dumas TX. Took longer than I should at some of the fuel stops. It's hard to get an overall average past 65 mph!

My neice needed a ride to scranton pa before going into the service.
Left Allentown, pa 3am- to Roanoke Va by 9am 400mi. Sat for 2 hours, loaded all her gear, and back to Allentown by 7pm . 800 total in mid July on a Concours. Way too hot! I was moving , very little snacks, and Power-Aid, and Advil before I left.

I'll bite.
Bike: 19730 BMW R60/5 Miles: 120 Trip: Today. Rode a little over an hour this morning to go to the "Spring Warm Up" at Summit Motorsports Park in Norwalk, Oh (dragstrip). 40 and overcast going there, stood outside for 5 hours in 40 degrees and overcast, rode an hour back in the same. As I got home the sun came out and the temp shot up to 50, right on time. On the plus side I just broke 5000 miles total riding experience.
