Distance: 1,100+
Time: 22 hours
Ride: IBA SS1K attempt, I-10 to Las Cruces, I-25 to ABQ, I-40 to Flag, and I-17 back to the 602.

I never ended up sending in my paperwork, although my friend did. I didn't feel like I did anything worth bragging about. We left early Saturday, came back early Sunday, and I rode to work on Monday.

If I try it again, I'm going to do it on a CM200 or something--THAT would be a challenge.

Did 2 unofficial 1000/24 One about 1075 miles in 22 hours (Canada / US) on my Gold Wing.
Did 24 Colorado passes in 18 hours and about 600+ miles on my XR650R!

I do agree that a there is no such thing as a bad ride, but I find after a certain point "making miles" overshadows everything else. I suppose after many years as a long haul driver, "making miles" has become a distasteful concept to me

For me riding is like eating a fine meal, it's to be savored for it's own sake, not a challenge to accomplished.

Left my house in chicagoland headed east around the lake. Left at 6am got home at midnight. 960 miles. Was too cold to get the other 40 miles for an Iron butt. Would never do that again. and limit myself to about 400/day max.

Was supposed to be a short day on the BRP. The older GPS didn't show any campgrounds near. So it was a butt numbing 200+ miles. My ass usually starts getting sore before 100 miles on the torture instrument they call a KLR seat.
