Talking Let's see your covered bridges

Thought it would be nice to have one spot dedicated to covered bridges. This first one is in NH (don't recall where) while in route to Mt. Washington from PA. The second bridge is in PA discovered while I was trying to get lost...

Here is a Road Trip that I did with my Yamaha XT-250

Trip…to explore the Wayne National Forest.

From Sandusky Ohio to Marietta Ohio.

Side trip to West Virginia. (No picture on this report but the riding was great…very rough trails and access roads up and down through the mountains)

780 miles traveled in three days on a Yamaha XT-250.

First stop was in Rosco Village in Coshocton Ohio…Lunch time.

A little detour to check out the Wills Lake area off SR-83 just South of Coshocton…I heard that is was a good off road area. Well, it looked great. I did not spend much time there but I will be back.

I got to Marietta Ohio that night and stayed at the Best Western.

The Wayne National Forest is just out of town to the East.

The roads in the National Forest are great. I traveled SR-26 from Marietta to Woodsfield through the National Forest. From there I took SR-78 to SR-536 to Hannibal then SR-7 back to Marietta.

The Hills Bridge built in 1878…

The Hune Bridge built in 1877…

The Rinard Bridge built in 1875

I don’t know the name of this one…sorry.

One of the original “Mail Pouch Barns” painted by one of the original four painters that worked for Mail Pouch.

One of the friendly locals…

Looking across the Ohio River into west Virginia.

A “Barge Pusher” on the Ohio River.

Here are a couple of covered bridges that are outside of the National Forest but are near by…

The Mill Branch Bridge built in 1832.

The Bell Bridge built in 1888.

Heres another Ohio Rode Trip...2011

I took a three day 800 mile trip through Ohio on my Yamaha XT-250 this past June 2011…

Here are some pictures from my ride…

An “Ohio” barn painted during 2003 Ohio’s 200th birthday.

I stopped in the Hocking Hills area for a little hiking…

Now for some covered bridges…

This next one is the “Cox Bridge” built in 1884
