Anyone have any knowledge of this early of a DR650. I might have a chance to get one. Anything to look out for.

Ditto on a 93 DR650. Are we talking about the same bike? Phoenix?

No, this one is in NC. The bike has 10k miles on it. Runs great the owner says.

Nothing crazy to look out for. They're solid bikes. I recently picked up a '95 SE.

I believe there is some concern about the cylinder head base gasket (which may be addressed in the linked thread above). Other than that, I cannot think of anything.

No, these are the later, but not new ones. I have a 94 and the worst thing about it are getting parts. They are almost completely different machines from the bikes. They are very good bikes. However, they are not quite as good as the new ones. (Gear driven counter balancer vs chain drive, plus many other updates and changes.) Also, the suspension is also nowhere near as good as the newer bikes, but for the right price and the right condition; they're a very good bike and good bargain.

They are heavier than the '96 and up model.there is a board member that has one and hasn't reported any problems.

Well, I am going to look at the bike today. The bike also has a 2 bros pipe, rear rack, and skid plate. I am stoked! Might be back into adventure riding. I am getting bored with just plain street riding. Every time I pass a dirt road trail, I want to pull onto the trail with the VFR.

I am going to pull the trigger. I looked at it and it is in pretty nice shape. It doesn't have the graphics on it, so it is all white, but so what. Starts right up. It has a Super Trapp exhaust, but he is going to give me the stock exhaust as well. He has a Givi like top case for it too. I am getting the bike for $1500. I did not get a chance to ride it. I stopped to look at the bike on the way to my son's house which is three hours from me. My wife was with me and she wasn't real pleased about stopping to look at it. She was in a hurry, so rather than listen to her beach, I elected not to ride it. Now where should I get started with as far as mods go for this bike? How is the shock on this year?
