It looks like we have enough interest to make this ride worthwhile and the weather forecast looks good. I'll post a proposed plan tomorrow.

Here's my proposed plan.

I plan on heading North on Saturday and getting to Canton around 9:00 AM. I'll meet anyone coming from my direction at Cycle Nation on Riverstone PKWY and we'll leave there around 9:15. We'll take back roads to Rider's Hill in Dahlonega an get there around 10:30 -11:00. There we will met anyone else coming and have lunch (for those who are hungry. Then we'll leave around 12:00 and to a loop in the mountains through Suches and over Blood Mountain and back to Rider's Hill. The loop is around 50 miles. If anyone desires we can take a short side trip to Helton Creek Falls. Figure on this loop taking 1.5 - 2.5 hours depending on stops and side trips.

some links: Cycle Nation: http://www.cyclenationofcanton.com/map_hours.asp
Rider's hill: http://www.ridershill.com/pages/directions.php

If anyone has a better place to meet in Canton or any other suggestions, this is only a proposed plan.

Weather forecast is for low 90's and 20% chance of rain. It will be cooler on the mountain loop.

So, who's planning on coming?

Want to meet at McDonalds in Franklin Springs and ride up together? If so, what time?

Thanks for the invite. I can usually ride on Saturdays but unfortunately, not this one. I will definitely take a raincheck and attend the next one if possible. Have fun and take lots of pictures.

I have done some crazy things before, but the wife would probably flip out if I told her I was going to haul the zuma 4.5 hours away to ride with some GA guys. Klav if you get back to N AL we will have to arrange a liitle ride here.
Ya'll enjoy!

Maybe we'll see you next time. I'll be bringing my camera.

I'm in Alabama almost every week, but not on weekends. Maybe someday we can haul our scooters up to the Smokies from Al for a weekend. I've done that a couple of times with my Super 8. I think your Zuma and my Super 8 would fit into the back of one truck.

Yes,

I will be at McD's about 0815, for a biscuit or similar - got to have something in my tummy.

I will leave McD's at about 0900 for the Hill.

If for some unknown reason I can't make it, if I'm not there at 0900, leave without me.

Roger that. I'll be the suspicious looking character with an Arai silver/black/white helmet and a Joe Rocket jacket on the table and munching down on a BEC biscuit.

From Cycle Nation it's about 50-60 miles to Riders Hill, depending on our route, Then a 50 mile loop, then 50 miles back. For me it will be around 210 miles or more since I'm about 30 miles from cycle nation.

Unless we get lost, then it may be a bit further

SEE YOU AT 9
