Here's my inspiration - saw this shot of the Mobec Kalihari somewhere. Didn't care for the roll bar or car seat, but the open frame concept just had "GS" all over it.

Nice Rig!

That's a sweet looking Rig you've got. I believe I saw the LL installed when I was at Claude's about 4-5 months ago. I have a similar GS I am thinking of setting up with a car..........although something closed so my copilot doesn't give me grief..........
Just curious; did you do anything to the motor to increase power? I am thinking of installing a Siebenrock Power Kit and a lower final drive
Enjoy!

What a treat to work with Claude. Spent a couple late night sessions with him at the shop, sketching and mocking up the car. The man is a master diplomat - he can subtly suggest a better design feature in a way that makes you think it was your idea to start with.

All the car's superstructure is removable - 12 bolts. Ready for serious freight hauling.

What's been removed:

It's got a John Deere part #. Adjustable fore and aft and spring suspension.

So here's the obligatory shots of a dirty rig. Two whole feet of snow in central VA, we've been sufferin'.

Bone stock motor and doesn't seem to lack power. But that's almost entirely back roads, not above 55 mph. I have only 150 miles or so on the rig and no parking lot time yet (although I took the SC class a while back). So, not a real good feel yet for any need to increase power.

Forgot to mention, Claude, please feel free to jump in with any comments you have about this build or to answer any questions that come up (which I probably won't know enough to answer!).

Best,
Troy

Awesome! Claude hits another home run!

Just unloaded my Motorvation Spyder that I hauled back from Florida, can't wait to hook it back onto the GS and enjoy what little snow we have left in Minnesota!

I am still trying to learn more about the various ways to attach the tub. I was quite confused about the sidecar suspension until you posted the picture in the previous post and saw that it pivots and the wheel is in double shear if I am describing that properly. I am still confused about sway bars. Is the last picture above part of a (anti)sway bar? If so can you describe how it works.

It ties the wheels together with a spring, one goes up the other pulls it down, using the frame work to anchor the spring, helps hold the rig flat. http://www.hpsidecar.com/sidecararti...ar/Page31.html

The link you provided was very helpful. Perhaps I am not seeing how everything ties together in the picture but it doesn't look like the arm off the torsion bar attaches to the rear suspension and is that a weld on the torsion bar where it crosses under the sidecar frame?
