7 children from various parts of the world came together in Nordkapp on June 1988, stayed here for a week and created this monument which they called “CHILDREN OF THE EARTH”, which integrates symbols of collaboration, friendship, hope and happiness.

Direction Kamoyvaer
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Hasan’s motorcycle, though cleaned up several times ![]() Views on the road ![]() ![]() Kamoyvaer ![]() We attracted the attention and interest of 2 coaches’ load of German tourists we met here, who asked us about our route since we left Turkey and our course from this point on. We had such questions in many places. To me, most pleasant moments of the trip were when the people were trying to let us confirm that we were coming from Turkey though TR stickers on plates and bags, and their astonishments afterwards for such a long distance. It is quite good and pleasing to prove that people from Turkey could drive such long distances, and even by motorcycle. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() We leave Kamoyvaer and start to return to our hotel at Honningsvag. We stopped over on the route to shoot hangers intended to dry fish. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Honningsvag ![]() ![]() From the room’s window ![]() We had a very pleasant dinner with the peace of having reached to Nordkapp we were imaging for such a long time and went to our rooms to rest. We’ll start to return back tomorrow by following the Atlantic cost of Norway. By the way, I told a lonely Czech motorcyclist that I’d take a photo of him with Nordkapp symbol. He thanked to me and posed, then looked around and turned to me, and said “That’s all. . . End of the road”, and walked to his motorcycle and started to return back. We shared same thoughts during the night. “That’s all. . . End of the road”. |

20th day Honningsvag Alta Tromso
Our trace record Total: 730 km ![]() Passenger ship at the port was preparing to sail when we got up in the morning ![]() ![]() We started after having our breakfast and took the same route we used yesterday, from Russenes to Alta-Narvik intersection. We passed first again from Nordkapp tunnel and arrived then to Skarvberg tunnel ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() We are on Alto route after the tunnel ![]() ![]() We visited Alta Museum at Alta ![]() We watched here the video of play of lights called Northern lights or “aurora” ![]() ![]() Auroras (North and South Pole lights) are natural radiations seen especially on polar zones during the night. The radiations are specifically formed on the Ionosphere and are called Aurora Borealis on the northern hemisphere. “Aurora” comes from the name of Goddess of Dawn of Romans. “Boreas” in Greek is the definition of north wind. North Pole lights known as “Aurora Borealis” can only be watched on northern hemisphere sky. Watching possibility increases when one comes closer to north magnetic pole located on arctic islands on the north of Canada. Aurora formed close to magnetic pole is on the top and too high. Northern horizon is illuminated by green or sometimes pale red lights, similar to unexpected sunrise. Aurora Borealis rather increases on September-October and march-April. ![]() ![]() View from the museum garden ![]()
