If you mean google maps, sure!

1) Copy the link for the KMZ file listed in the first post.
2) Go to google maps. You want "My Places", "Create Map", then "Import" at the top. A box should pop up prompting you to upload a file.
3) The second box is "Or enter the url of map data on the web ". Paste the link here.
4) ???
5) Success?

I haven't tried this, but I don't see any reason it shouldn't work?

Feyala gave you some good directions, but unfortunately MyMaps has limitations that are exceeded by the Tent Space files. It currently will only expose up to 200 map features. So it loads up ok - no errors - but you'll only see the first 200 locations.

Ahh, boo.

I suppose an enterprising soul could probably break the main KMZ file into 200-location chunks or by state, etc, but might be more trouble than it's worth.

I didn't know about this limitation. Good to know for my own personal maps! I'll need to restructure the Giant Map Of Interesting Things for my own trip before it gets too monstrous, haha. Thanks!

if your gonna do it, do by 4. NE, NW, SE, SW..... save you from switching again in the future

In regard to Google Earth on the iPad 2.
It works on some tags and on others it shows a blank tab.

Activated all layers.
Deactivate Autotilt in Options.
Sometimes clearing History (Options) after displaying a tag
works for display of some tags.

Not consistent.
Continuing testing.
It does not look promising.
It was a non starter in 1st Gen iPod Touch.

I have downloaded after conversion:

artents.kml

Many other conversion formats can be selected in the upper right hand corner.

The csv file open in MS Excel.
The first 225 lines are outside the US.
I deleted those and saved the file as:
artents-USA.csv

Uploaded it to
http://garmin.gps-data-team.com/extra/

converted and downloaded

artents-USA.kml

Stored this file at the web (box.net) but Google Maps had problems with
the converted format.

Now I got to figure out if it is possible to save portions of it to "My Maps".
My first attempt is focused on Vermont, New Hampshire and Maine.

I logged into Google and opened "My Places" in Google Maps.
Create a map
Paste

Title: Vermont-New Hampshire-Maine
The entire artents.kmz file is imported.
Click on a Vermont Tag and save it to map created.
It appears that saving a tag from
http://ridetoeat.com/artents.kmz
is not possible.
One has to import it first.

I am working on the Vermont Map and using blue pins
so as to be able to distinguish between red (not saved) and blue (saved) pins.
One needs to zoom in because some red pins in the same location overlap.

I have tried to detail my progress (caveat here).

A pity that google earth doesn't fully express on the ipad.

Anyway, every time the list is updated all of the data files are uploaded in both .kmz and .kml format:

Hopefully that helps with your research.

If there is a need, I'd be willing to automatically publish them in other formats as well. See the RideToEat.com downloads page, which has various formats generated by a similar process to the one I use to generate the ARTents files.
