No idea what kind of fuel you get in South Africa?
We just get leaded, unleaded, and SASOL, which is petrol made from coal. One of those industries started during apartheid so that SA could be independent and not fuel starved due to sanctions.

Ours is in RON. so its the same as yours 93-95.

Here in the midwest most stations offer E10 as an alternative, but will usually offer non-ethanol gasoline as well.

Local standard octanes are:

(all calculated using the (RON+MON)/2 formula)

Regular 87
Regular E10 89
Premium 91

The price changes so frequently here that most stations have digital signs. If they had the old slide in type signs, the poor guy doing the numbers would hardly get off the ladder.

LOL. There is a station two miles from my house that I frequent. I always pass it on the way home from work and most days the numbers aren't even up because they are being changed

I paid $4.09/gal the other day.

Speaking of price signs.. The station I use frequently has digital price signs, and they've been shut off for the past couple of days. I jokingly think to myself it's to keep people from freaking out and not pulling in. Best to wait to break the news after they're already trapped at the pump during the lunch-hour rush.

Fuel price

Filled up this am, 4.20 a gallon for premium at Costco.
I saw Chevron premium @4.45 on the way, therefore Costco seemed like a deal!

$4.299 for pure gas, 91 octane... you can find cheaper but I prefer the ethanol free when I'm near that particular station

I wish there was an ethanol free station near me, but the one I know about is about 30 minutes the wrong way on my commute.
