Just picked up these quotes from the main f5 thread - all 'real time' comments when the Pyn slow mo footage was screened ! Shared it here as I suspect Pyn may read this after the Dakar and otherwise it would all be lost in the monster thread !

In case you had not heard the R2R boys who were involved in the accident have non life threatening injuries. Unfortunately 2 locals were killed in the incident.
I'd be great full if somebody can let Pyn know as he has been told it was the lads from the support truck who had died.
My thoughts are with the friends and families of all those involved.

We should add, for reference, that this footage was shown on France4's live afternoon show, a Francais. Folks from around the world, probably none of whom are native French speakers, were tuned in to this through the magic of F5, following a guy who's let us ride on his shoulders from application, through acceptance and build, to participation.

How cool is that?!?

I sent Pyn an SMS as soon as I listened to the call.

Another great day, well done.
Sounds a little tired and down but to be expected with the combination of the day and the sad news, still his usual chirpy giggles when he talks about his riding experiences which is a true sign he is still enjoying it.......and with THAT smile at the end of the day what more can be said.....

Apart from GO PYN GO!!!

In reply to some of your questions on how I am feeling from a mum's point of view, at first I was nervous & anxious at the big challenge ahead, but as the days pass & seeing him progress through the challenges the nerves are subsiding and the excitement is buzzing I am totally hooked and can' t wait to check in for another update.

That slow mo was freaking sweet! Better still - I could read what his shock preload was - time to go to the garage and dial it in!

Go Pyndon!!! I know he's just hanging back watching the master and will blow by CDP on the last stage!!!!
I'd love to see him finish in the top 2 or 3.
