![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() On the stage weather is weather and terrain is terrain. Equal for everyone and the same for all competitors. All the competitors faced the same route, the same terrain, and the same challenges when they set out this morning. The ASO decided that the first element of the stage should be canceled and that was done before the start. No problem with that. But when competitors go onto a stage and risk everything in a racing environment then, in my opinion, it's wrong to make a decision after the event to neutralise it. It sounds like some riders followed the route whilst others made mistakes. Some got lucky in picking their way across tricky terrain and others did not. A bit of luck there - but luck can be a major player in Motorsport. Whatever the outcome Pyn did unbelievably well today. He did it right whilst others did not. Luck ? Possibly. But that's Motorsport. In my book he deserves the place along with the recognition and applause that goes with it !! PynSister, PynMum, PynDad and of course PynGirfriend - your boy did you all proud today ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Go Pyn !

Just added this too @carltonkirby
@carltonkirby: Red flag for cars only. Nasser stuck on rock in swollen river. DeVilliers not attempting to cross. Minis have snorkels... How clever! |

Eurosport's Carlton Kirby confirms, the "red flag" ONLY applies to the cars, many of which are still stuck in the flash floods.
Pyndon's result should stand, but of course there's all of the rest day to adjust the rules... |

Way to go Lyndon.
Bet you never thought this would happen, mate. May I suggest a show of support for this most excellent effort? If you've got the swag, how about a pic of you in it, posted up here? Since he has a rest day, somebody here with his number could message him to look in tomorrow, perhaps without warning him? . I would think that he'd be able to get online for that. I'll post up a puc when I get home.

What a fantastic result, although it's a shame all he got was a brief mention on Eurosport but at least Carlton managed to squeeze one in.
If Lyndon does manage a peek on here, we're all 100% behind you and keep at it! And, don't forget that today you beat some, nay, most of the best in the rally world... |
