Mitas Tires or Tyres or whatever... where?
Does anyone know where to get Mitas Tyres?
I tried to go here: http://www.mitasmx.com/shop/index.php but the site seems dysfunctional like my sister's autistic son. (no really, it's that bad). Can't click on anything. Sent a message through the site and got no reply. I'd like to try a set but need to figure out where I can order them. |

It was a bad ass tire... he side wall was so strong I bet I could have ran my bike with a flat.... ![]() Quote:

Don't know what they have in stock though. If they won't ship direct to you maybe I can help with that. Check into it and let me know. I'll be out of town for a week however. |

Here's the thread that has a Mitas rep....http://http://advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=706242&page=23
It sounds like the US is having a bit of trouble with a reliable distributor.

It's actually more like Mitas not knowing how to build up sales volume.

I can get more info, because some guys on our CZ forum have direct ties to the Mitas factory... one is even their test rider.

Mitas is not a thing of the past. I talked to a guy at the distributorship in N. Catolina a couple days ago.
Trelloborg as a brand is going away. Mitas was the mfg of the tires. Trelloborg as a brand is disappearing but the same tires will be around under the Mitas name. Anyway, they are waiting on a container of tires and then the site will be back up again. They are also waiting on DOT approval of the E-10. Once that happens they'll get those in and start selling them. He also told me they are considering a small distributors program. Min order of 10 tires w/discounts. Kind of like what happened with the Heidenaus. You used to order them from John at Moto-amore in the bay area but as they got popular he now prefers to sell them to shops in bigger orders instead of one at a time. I was asking about the possibility of becoming the west coast rep or distributor for their motorcycle tires. There are dozens of fistributors and shops out west for their Farm equipment tires. Just limited Moto tires thus far. He said he'll email me when he has more info on availability. |

Jarda has most-ridden 800GS in CZ and I think he has over 150 000km.
since 2009 I'm the second one... back in 2008-9 his trips were a part of a local-bmw-importer/dealer somehow sponsored campaign "250 000 kms on 800GS". --- but I did mean another person.. Jaroslav Sima doesn't write often to our forum.

All I'm saying is that I'd be happy to order one from them but it's hard to justify paying the premium for shipping vs others tires from my local shop. Wish I could get these locally. |
