I see it as a way to "improve" the bike with aftermarket goodies.

Glad you are okay bro. That exact same thing happened to me this morning...which is why I was reading this thread. Glad you and me both had gear on. Be safe everyone!

Hope you're alright. Lots of goodies for the V, you can build her back just like new.

Wow! That was a weird crash. No front brake.
Were you on the rear brake? You didn't have much lean angle for that crash...if no brakes, that's a weird crash. |

did you hit oil or a spot of ice there.
I don't see a reason for that to happen in that video.

Just watched the video with my 9 year old daughter.
![]() She noted that you appear to have the exact same riding gear as I do, and she knows that I NEVER get on my bike without it. So she knew you were going to be ok. Cool to see your kids in the video when you took your helmet off inside. My daughter made a comment that you wear all the right gear because you have kids and you are smart, got me thinking that is likely the best reason to wear the gear ALL THE TIME. Not even half a block from home you needed your gear, glad you had it. I damn near did the same thing last spring on my ZX14, too much right hand for the tire temp! That was a good wake for me, and thankfully not as expensive as yours. Glad you are ok, bikes can be fixed even thought it is a total PITA. OP |

What's amazing is how far the bike slid. At least 30 feet. Glad you're okay dude.

At least you didn't have far to travel to get the bike back home
It was 32F when I took a short trip to the store this morning - I was worried about the exact same thing happening to me. |
