Steve Bennet used to have one of these and I got to race it at the AHRMA meets in the 90's.
Once set up with Gixxer upside down forks and wire wheels at Roebling Road it acted all wierd . A spacer in the rear wheel had been left out and the sprocket bolts chewed up the S.A.
We took it to P.S.C. in Daytona and Tony let us borrow the S.A. from a different Alchemy for the Big D. Brook Henry was there when we were working on the bike and said it was the only one he'd seen with a round case motor.

It handled well but, was a little strage to feel the shock working with your left leg.

The last time I rode it , it had Marchinissi wheels and Michelin slicks. Unfortunately it still had the street exhaust. Going up toward the Keyhole at Mid-Ohio I was gaining on a Bimota when the front slid two feet to the left sliding on the exhaust. after that Steve put it back on the street.

Well done. You've just about covered it all in vintage racing. You even slipped in a Rokon!

Geez Boot - were you following me around?
Thanks for taking - and posting - all these fantastic pix! (Wife went to a Scout camp with the camera....)

For those that asked, this was an Easter weekend meeting at the Broadford state motorcycle complex, just outside Melbourne, Australia.
It's officially dubbed the Honda Big Bike Bonanza and is open to any bike over 25 years old - you can ride in on a modern, just can't "parade" it.
What Boot's excellent pictures don't show is that there are also Speedway, MX, Trials and Enduro tracks too - and all were being used.
There was a lot of Castrol R - and ethanol - being burned there!

FWIW, the Jack Findlay TZ has apparently just been sold, reportedly for $60k; I don't know if it was the new or the old owner who has wringing its ear out on the track, but it sounded great.
Alan Cathcart was out on the BSA V-twin on the Saturday - and probably a few other things too. Multiple world Speedway champ Ivan Mauger did a few laps on a 1953 Jawa - and a few other bikes too, probably. At lunchtime, I bought a hurlburger, sat down under some gumtrees to eat - and realised that I'd sat down next to double world champ Hugh Anderson, who was just hanging with some other guys.

Next year we fully intend to scare a few of our old things into life and spend a weekend there (might take some bikes too...)

Nup. No stalkers here! Got in Sunday arvo., which explains why so many machines are in vans, utes, trailers etc. Won't happen again...
As you mention, Legends are there. ! Just all lovn' it. Had a long chat with Rod Tingate, cause we wuz both admiring the rear end of the Paton 500, (Sweeeety..!). This is one of the world's motocycle mecca's for sure.

Camping next year, down by the speedway track!!! (Noice! Lake and trees and all....) And bring my saucy lenses, rather than trash glass.

Oh yeah! Was out FANGIN'. Police were about, and after US, apparently..... Fook 'em!
