A few more pictures

I'm neither talented nor prolific when it comes to taking pictures. Asrvivor has already posted excellent pics, and I'm sure there's more to come from others. Here's my humble offering from the Tour.

Crossing the Klamath Marsh:

Summer Lake Rest Stop:

Superpacman on Rock Creek Road out of the Hart Mountain Wildlife Refuge:

A bit of a traffic jam at the gas pumps...

More to come...

What a blast!

Had a super time for the last 4 days, wandering about the desert looking for the elusive Venomous Desert Beaver... Thanks to Cuz OMB, Rideabout, V-Duck, Asrvivor, and Superpacman13 for being great riding/camping/drinking companions!! This ain't a real ride report, but here's a few pic's:

Loaded up and pulling out of my place, Rideabout tries to "kick" start his 650L in the background

On the east end of Pine Mountain, Rideabout sneaks up behind OMB with his patented stealthy riding skills!

Good thing it ain't winter no more!

On top of Green Mountain - your government spent about a half million dollars ona brand new cinder block lookout, then closed the road and locked it up. The damn thing looks like it has an elevator and everything inside!

By the time we got to Christmas Valley, that Rideabout jerk had pissed us off so bad that we made him sit in the shadows all by himself why we ate killer deli sandwiches and wouldn't share with him.

Ok kids, it's a school night and I gotta hit the sack for now. Stay tuned - more to come!

Chapter two..

Leaving Christmas Valley, we set out in search of the A6 Intruder crash site I had been wanting to visit for the last year. The road eventually ended and we took a little 4 mile round trip hike in full riding gear and 80 degree heat - fun!

Most pieces are about this size. This thing hit at a low angle of attack and literally disintegrated over a 1+ mile path.

The biggest chunk

A plaque explaining what happened and begging local rednecks to not haul off the pieces as yard ornaments

A gratuitous flower shot. I hate the desert - it's just so bleak and lifeless out there...

As we were flying down the Silt Road from Hell (sorry, no pictures - I was too scared to take my hand off the bars), I spied this weird ice crystal (assumption here) rainbow dealio way up high in the clouds. It's straight, no curve to it at all, and looked like some alien disco light show.

Close up

Anybody want a '66 F-100 short wide? Might need a little body work, but the price is right!

Stopped in Plush for a cheeseburger, coupla beers, and some gas from the totally EPA compliant pump. No leaks here! Bought a half-rack and a bag of ice because my bike was feeling a little light in the rear and needed some extra weight for traction.

Pretty self-explanatory where we are here

Hart Mtn Hot Springs campground for the first night. Surprised V-Duck and the rest of the clan when they rolled in and we were already there! Lucky I brought the beer too, as Ass-river's new trailer seemed to be lacking in the refreshment department .

That's all for now - more to come!

Looks like you guys had a blast for sure, as you wander out and about stay away from the south end of Alkali Lake, it's where the Army dumped a huge stock pile of the chemicals they made Agent Orange out of.

To really see some whacked out shit watch the archival video in the above link.

I can hear that creek and the wind whistling through the leaves. Love that place.
