That's a good question - Bragg Creek doesn't have anything like that (or much else for that matter, aside from coffee, booze, and a few restaurants). You would have to call around the Calgary bike shops to see about any rentals - sorry I can't help! If I had what you were looking for (small displacement DS machine) I would lend it to you. Good luck!

There is an inmate in Cochrane or Canmore with F 800 s to rent or go on a tour with but his name alludes me right now.

Haha. Came to me. http://www.bsummit.com/Rentals%20Adv...%20Touring.htm

Don't forget the ice cream!

Thanks for the offer and the links though. That is truly appreciated.

I shall ask and find out how they feel about dirt on the bikes. And what kind of tires they have mounted...

Thinking about it now I might also ask the neighbors if they would be open to some kind of deal.

is there any adventure bike shops in Calgary that would have heated gear equipment?

I rode in from Oklahoma lastnight but my heat controller died and I'm having to power it on and off to cycle 100% heat and keep from burning up.

Need it before I head back on Thursday.

also, any good places to hang out? maybe some dive bars in the area? Up here for the global petroleum show staying at the Deerfoot In... not much into the casino thing.

the only adventure shop is in Canmore... mountain motorrad. or a few places in town might have it... if uyou have time you can take highway 1A out west of town, nice drive there or check out hwy 22 north or south of town. if your into some dirt, you could try hwy 40 north-west of town, its gravel and stretches from south near the border up to grande prairie, would take you a few days to do... enjoy!

I'm into dirt, but i'm here for the trade show and have to set up and work the show, so no time for riding until I head south again.

Would Any of the shops here in town cary heated gear?

Maybe like a Cycle Gear or similar?

Nano:

Anderwerks has heated gear. They're open Tuesday to Saturday. 403-277-4269.

The biggest dealer in town is Blackfoot Motorsports; they have a big selection of clothing. It's just a few minutes north of you.

For good bars, the two best places in town are the Red Mile (17th Ave SW from about 12 street to about 4 street) and the Kensington area (Kensington Road and 10 street NW). Please note that Alberta is a .05 BAL province.

Enjoy your stay.

Thanks Rinty!

We'll catch a taxi if we go drink somewhere. Always better that way. .05 is low, but I've got no problem with that!

I'll check out Anderwerks on Tuesday. Thanks again!

Tell Dave that Rin sent you.

The limit is actually .08, but they impound vehicles at .05 to about .10, and do a 24 hour suspension. So even a couple of pints could put a guy at risk, depending on body weight.
