I'm putting Hyperpro fork springs and new oil in my 43k mile FZ6 this winter and will report back.

They were actually on my concours. But according to Bill and many of the FZ6 forum you can go with a 2" rise on the stock cables.

Got a set

I just got a set of 1.25" dirtbike risers.

Man, What a difference. I can't wait to combine these with the lower pegs.

Pegs

The Knight Designs lowered pegs like NJ-Bill suggested last page. From what I read, they make a world of difference.

Price

The price seems a bit steep to me ($90+), so I talked to my dad (a machinist by trade) and we are going to try to just make some brackets to lower the pegs an inch. I'll post some pics if it works out.

Pegs

I looked into it. Seems to me that just making a simple bracket with a second set of holes would be much easier. It would mounts into the frame two places.

My wrists were bugging me from the sweep angle stock handlebar too. The FZ1 bar has a less severe angle, but it has no rise, and gives a more aggressive seating position. The FZ6R handlebar has the same rise as the FZ6 bar, but with the angle of the FZ1 bar.

I was given another stock FZ6 from a local guy. I had a welder I work with heat it up with a torch and straighten out the bar to half of the stock sweep angle. Essentially made it a FZ6R bar. Then I gave it a quick sandblasting and a few coats of satin black Krylon.

These pics show the stock bar and the modded stock bar.

Lost patience looking for a Shad rack so I bought a Ventura rack. Then as soon as that happens someone on the FZ6 forum responds to my Shad rack request. Great, now I have both.

Which to keep.....

Angle

I know what you mean about the angle of the bars. Coming off dirtbike and enduros, the angle killed my wrists at first, but i got used to it. It sorta of looks like when it got bent that it straightened out and doesn't come back now? Do you feel like you have to lean farther forward now to reach them?

Not totally sure what you mean by your first question. But yes, I did notice that it was more of a stretch to reach the bar after with the modded bar. I had a set of 1"up/1"back sw motech risers laying around that I ended up putting on afterwards. Taller people (I'm about 5'9") might not have any issues. Here's a pic with the modded bar overlayed on the stock bar to show how much extra 1-1.5" reach.
