Hi Noah,

Wonderful adventure and story
Surely you must have appreciated the sense of these wise words from the Russian guy after this Vitim bridge crossing..."Please be careful..."

Enjoy the rest of the trip and thanks again !

looks good

Those videos were awesome, Noah! Thanks for telling the whole story and not just the gopro of the crossing. Are you still shooting on the Sony NEX 5? Looks great.

Watching Vitim bridge crossings is always a bit

Someone going over with full gear and helmet would quickly sink but I suppose that even in a swimsuit it would be near impossible to swim out of that cold fast-moving water.

Great RR, thanks for taking the effort. Back to lurk mode

Great Video. Just curious how fast you think you were going over the bridge?

I think there are some "Magadan" patches.. but I don't think for the Vitim or the Bam.

Yes. As he was saying that I was thinking "my mother told him to say that"

This scenario plays out in your mind and you talk about it. I know I can swim in hiking boots.. so maybe I can in moto boots? Your only chance would be to get your jacket and helmet off right away. But getting to shore would be a different story. Of course this is all talk and your best option is to stay on the bridge.

Great job Noah and crew. I would like to think that I would be able ride the Vitim Bridge, but seeing it in person is different than watching other videos. Perhaps someday...

Thanks. The Gopro 3 takes some amazing footage. I tried to upload in HD so you get everything. But you have to go in order to feel the power of the river. It really is crazy. There were huge trees floating down the river while we were on the bridge. Definitely should be on everyone's bucket list.

Done and Done. I said it was last time.. but I haven't done the OSR to Magadan yet.. so I might be back

Congrats, Noah. You've done something not everyone get to attempt.

Keep the report coming - I'm enjoying every post.
I hold my breath with out knowing it. But on the bridge, I was breathing huge in out breaths to try and keep my self calm.

NEX 5 for most of the shots and Gopro for the POV shots. The shot of me riding onto the bridge was done with Kim's Panasonic DMC-LX7, as well as many of the pictures in the last few threads. It seem to be a pretty good camera for the job.

I was in 1st gear. Maybe 30 km/h at the end? probably around 20km/h for most of it.

Because I'm an OCD type Eng, I looked at the time 1870ft/570m in 87sec and came up with ~15mph/24kph average.

Awesome videos and reports!

I believe Walter (Colebatch) has Vitim Bridge sticker or patches.

These dilapidated bridges always make me think someones going to get a huge flat and go off the side. I know you walk the bridge to check for rotten boards but have you found anything sharp lying around or splintered wood?
