The problem is posers fail to comprehend that the the world is either laughing at, or disgusted by them, and the rest of us get tired of being stereotyped as retarded adolescents because of them.

So when do we vote for the ultimate poser? I hope I win. Fingers crossed. I am sleeping in my arai xd4 and Klim adv suit. I just got back from Starbucks and while I was getting in my car, a couple fag Harley riders pulled up, so I educated them on being ATGATT. Soon I will talk my wife into letting me have a bike and I will ride it. Far. Like 50 miles. 50 MILES not kilometers you Canadian hosers.

While 95% of guys on Harleys are not to be seen on the road when its nasty out, the only other bikes I see on the road when its nasty out are usually on Harleys.
It might just be that 95% of the bikes on the road around me are big twins, but there are plenty of hard core Harley riders.

I have a one piece cold weather suit, so its no big deal for me to be out when others are not, and most of the time, the other bikes I see on the road are on big twins.

And speaking of New Hope, I was once at Frans pub sipping a cold one on my way up to the Pocono's when up rolls a couple on two clean new BMW adventure bikes, wearing every piece of new gear on a 95F 90% humidity day.
Everything was spotlessly clean and they looked a little inept at bike handling when parking, but had the bikes all set up for a ride on the road of bones, or with the gear they were wearing, maybe some nasty single track.

And I was there, posing as a hopeless newb with my polo shirt, jeans and sneakers, on the mighty TU250.

Just like the people that need to dress like Lance Armstrong any time they get on a bicycle, we all have our uniform...

Heard grumbling after that.

Buddy of mine used to be a member of that group, had other bikes besides HD's. He put one in with a sidecar, novel he was told, but only HD's are eligible for awards. He's not a member anymore.

I also fly Suzuki yellow and see the same things mentioned here.

Who cares?

You are obviously missing the point here. Wearing a T-shirt, or even a HD jacket to a bike show is no big deal. Dressing like you actually rode to the event when you didn't=posing.

No need to get your assless chaps in a twist.

I'll admit it! I'm an ADV poser. I don't particularly like riding in dirt or sleeping in tents (but will do both if I absolutely have to).

I bought an R1200GS because it was a step up from my former ADV-type bike, an F650GS (back when they had 1 cylinder). I didn't like the idea of a lot of plastic, since I'm a sloppy rider (i.e., drop my bike on occasion), and I don't like keeping a clean bike (lazy). A dirty GS is acceptable.

And as an ADV poser, I had to have the textile gear. (I went with Rev'it. Rallye 2/3 and Klim are too rich for me.)

But I don't wear my gear unless I'm riding.

I'm sorry, but not only are you not a poser, but REAL Beemer riders find you offensive.

I was once found myself on a bike ride in San Diego County with a group of self-possessed bike snobs. We saw a guy riding the other way wearing a bike jersey with the rainbow "World Champion" trim on it. The mucks I was riding with starting bitching and crowing about that poseur with the WC jersey.

That "poseur" was Mark Allen. And none of the snob know-it-alls even knew it.

I have the same experience here in the midwest. I rode every month this year and every day since early March and the great majority of bikes out with me on those cold, rainy days were HD's. Not just cruisers, but specifically HD's.
