celtics are beside us
here i´m from the other side, HERE although we have many things in common thanks for the interest This past weekend, we headed to colonize the lands of Castilla, but the rain did not let us just a small sample, one of these days will make a RR ![]() first mountain ![]() ![]() that lead you to first big plain but storm ends up reaching us this could be a "home made 360º sight", eight pics of that plain we had to spend that night in this "love shack" and invoke Celtic spirits with a "queimada", my riding mate is Galician that place was amazing here´s the route |

back to the south again, day one
looking for those wonderful fields of wheat as yellow as summer sun but riding at noon can be a risky sport, it's hot and the humidity is minimal, you need to stop often to hydrate your tired body to stop as often makes you discover hidden and curious nooks, sad memories of past times not so long ago MOLA hey, what´s your doing, MOFO? and some coincidences begin right in the middle of nowhere some farmers forget where the trail is hey, dude, where the fuck are we? step by step found the trail again fields are full of poppies as well back on the track again, seems that heat will give us a break because it blows some wind at Burgos we turn the course toward the south looking for a wild and sparsely inhabited area, SIERRA DE LA DEMANDA, with peaks above 2200 mtrs more to come.............. |

thnx dude!
Antonio Machado was a very important spanish poet and he said once: Wanderer, your footsteps are the road, and nothing more; wanderer, there is no road, the road is made by walking. By walking one makes the road, and upon glancing behind one sees the path that never will be trod again. Wanderer, there is no road-- Only wakes upon the sea. from "Proverbios y cantares" in Campos de Castilla. 1912 and there we were, in Castilla fields with nothing clear, no idea where to go............ when we meet a pair of GS trying to survive among single track forest, looking closer i realize that both were well known dudes from Barcelona, casuality? or an enemy action? that bike was an GS once, now i really don´t know what it is got together for a few beers, the heat was almost annoying, and spent some time telling lies and stories of our travels, and blah, blah blah, you know but it was quite late, the sun was about to hide behind the mountains, so we hurry to find a place to sleep lovely place we could see a full of stars sky that night, no cold, no wind, no noise what else could you ask? perhaps not snoring? Sunday morning was just like saturday´s, perfect weather all arund there... and we got to La Demanda amazing place to ride, but most of it is Natural Park, so riding is forbidden down there, La Rioja, maybe the best wines in the world more soon.......... |

finally the sun is shining
take this opportunity to go further and this is to blame for what I show to you when I go farther than usual, always cross many peaceful villages, those that invite you to take a quiet coffee speaking with the locals about.......... who cares that kind of villages where people always leaves the keys on those towns who always have many options to go for bikes like mine many creeks to cross many mountais to climb but never too dry there are also many forgotten roads to cross where you can find strange things........... i mean really strange things and up to the hills again and again pine trees and eucaliptus intensive farming that makes the very steep single tracks really funny but not always these forests are crossed by ancient railways carrying iron ore to the coast and then take them by boat to England grey clouds are here again, tonight´s gonna rain again some close ups and back to the forest coming back home camera of this cell phone is really amazing thxs for reading |
