One I would like would be adjustable settings for the 3 or 4 preset levels for preload and damping on the model that has the electronically controlled suspension. That way, the premium suspension version would not lose functionality compared to the base model (Does not apply to R).
Another, perhaps non-R model could get two tone paint on tank and side panels so it looks as good as the R.
Agreed with that.
I'm still awaiting a call from my dealer that the Adventure has arrived ... will post a pic when I get it. After taking delivery, us Europeans will find all the bugs so you Americans [edit]and Canadians[/edit] will be able to buy the better bike next year!

Laugh Mine has arrived!

My dealer in The Netherlands received two grey 1190's and one 1190 R's today. The orange ones are scheduled for Tuesday.

I had ordered an orange one, but had my doubts once I saw it in person at a show. It's a strange metallic kind of orange, not KTM orange at all.
So, even though KTM's are supposed to be orange, I decided today to get the grey one pictured above. Will be riding this Saturday if all goes well. GPS bracket is in back order until end of May.

Way to go! Great pics.

Spoke with my dealer today. Demo bike test ride next week and probably early April before I get mine.
Seems that there are a few more orange bikes around than grey.
I have placed my order for grey but since then I am warming to the orange so I need to take another look.

Let us know your first impressions

1190R comes with 21" front using a 120/70 Conti Trail Attack?? The spec I saw has the 1190 and 990 about the same weight.

Anyone know what the front rim width is? I'd like a wider front on my 990 ADV. The 90/90 Conti Trail Attack is pretty skinny and I am going to figure out if the 990 front rim is wide enough for the 120/70

New 1190 Adventure ride vid

This one from UK mag visor down:

http://vimeo.com/60844586

About the most involving onboard stuff I have seen from the launch, and with the best soundtrack. Sorry, vimeo won't let me embed.

Spoke to the local dealer today. ETA of first showroom bikes is now April (was now). Sounds like they may have held up shipping to fix a couple of glitches, as noted earlier by a European poster.

The standard 1190 comes with the 120/70ZR19 tire, but the 1190R comes with the same 90/90ZR21.

From the KTM site:
KTM 1190R CHASSIS
21" and 18" wheel diameters for improved offroad ability
Standard tyres (90/90 ZR (260) 21 and 150/70 ZR (260) 18)

I'll try to write a short comment on my first ride on my new 1190 adv r.
since I'm italian an my english is so so, I hope you'll forgive me for all the errors I'm going to make.

As you can see from the pic I got it on a raining day. I did 40 km on road and 3 off road.

noise (akra): it is noisy only when starting it up and at minimum rev. otherwhise is more silet than the 900 with stock silencer. Also the motor is quiter then 990.

the seat it's slightly higher then the 990 adv and the handle bar a little more far away. it's a very natural an confortable seatting position.

the motor is fantastic! I would like all the people complainig tha 150 pw is too much to try it. the power it's just perfect! to me the ride by wire it's great. the accelerator reacts very softly at slow rev. & speed. uncomparable with the 990.
already from 2000 rev the torque is very strong but never eccesive the bike it always "composed". this with street setting and never passing the 7000 rev. in this range the vibation level was low, lower the 990.
the traction control went on 3/4 times but I couln't fell it at all.

the chassis and suspensions are very ballance the bike soo nimble! the suspention feel steafer but on the rocky off road were great, the bike felt easier than the 990 off road. expecially because it's very easy to handle the accelerator, even when using all the 150 pw on wet rocky surface, incredible. impossible to compare it to the 990.

I also tried the bike on the highway, 170 km/h at aprox. 6000 rev. the screen in it's upper position works well, no buffering at all! the head is covered and you get a little air pressue on he sholdrers, I don't need to buy the higher screen.

for last the central stand, even a 4 years hold boy could lift the bike up...

Ciao
Igor

Nice bike Igor. Great information too. Your English is great. Much better than my Italian, that is for sure. No 1190's in Canada until September 2013 at the earliest.
