Sure, BMW usually wins and Triumph comes in 2nd. they know who buys their magazine
This test KTM came in 2nd.
Best engine, only handling and "Zielgenauigkeit" could be better whatever that means. Steering accuracy?

I've test-ridden the 1200GS ( airhead ), but will never get one. Those tests from ANY mag I take with a pinch of salt - since no journo can tell me what I want anyway. I've never liked the telelever front fork thingie - too indirect feedback for my taste. The KTM 1190 will get my nod anytime in the GS tonnage class.

The Bimmer is a good motorcycle, but not what I want - if I should enter that 230 kgs weight class "allroad" motorbike - the 1190 R will be my baby.

I'll be on the fence for a couple of years while downpaying my other bikes - then maybe go for the R - if I bother - and the KTM 800 Adventure R never shows up

Yes, thatīs what it means. They say, itīs probably because of the steering damper. But, this can be removed, I think.

Have any of you seen this? They were cleaned from the system, but the E928 mentions static error, MM5.10 sensor time out/DLC error, bla bla

Hi,

Have you managed to solve these issues?
Keep us updated, please!

Hi Foreman, honestly speaking haven't checked about it yet; at the moment I am thinking badly, how to avoid the heat rising during a traffic ride, it looks like it's worse than the 990. :-((((

Oops! Tell us about that mate! Conditions, engine temp, where is the heat directed. We didnt get any feedback on this yet since we are entering Spring and temps are mostly lowish at the moment ....

Might give this bike a miss since it is 2 1/2 times more than a DL650, I know it is way more capable and better looking but not sure if I can justify 250% more $. The bonus is that I can always get one a year or two from now and find out if there are any shortcomings plus really need to find out from people if it is very good for a pillion since my ms will be a pillion often.
Might still wait to test ride one but probably buy one which is not good for my budget at the moment.
It is more fun to ride a slow bike fast than a fast bike slow....

How about a KLR250 Super Sherpa?
Slow bike - Slow ride
The 1190 is not for everybody and our needs are all different. The price is right, I like it.

The more I read about the 1190, the more I want one.
BUT...Can one of you guys with one please tell me how WIDE it is?
I know it's a stupid question, but I have to get any bike I own down a passage that's a little narrow. My Tiger 955i squeezes through, but some of the newer adventure/touring bikes are just too wide at the bars to pass.

But not as much fun to ride a fast bike fast.

There are probably more reasons not to buy any motorcycle than there are to buy one. If you don't have the budget, don't like the style, think only posers buy them, don't like the color choices, think they're too fast or slow, don't handle well, or handle so well that you're not challenged; just move on and get something you like.

Would LOVE to have the 1190 but it would mean I have to let go of both my old DL650 and my B-King and I believe I`m not ready as yet to let go of the King.
I know for a fact that the cheaper, slower and not as good looking DL is adequate on dirt roads, can go more than 500km`s (310 miles+ with a 20 litre tank) between fuel stops, is very good for a pillion, cheaper insurance, less spending on a loan (10-13% interest rate), can use some of my old stuff from my current DL but also know that if I ever get a chance to test ride one (1190) with and without pillion I probably get one even if it will break my budget since motorbikes is a big passion of mine, never had a KTM either which would be a nice change.
Might wait to get the new DL650 until I tested the 1190......
Cheers.
