Probably would do OK during off track excursions

Got it at last!

Picked up my new Adventure yesterday and managed 200 miles of mixed road riding getting to know her. I am seriously impressed! As it is a brand new engine I set myself a rev limit of 5K for the first 100 miles and Rain Mode only, even with this restriction the power delivery is strong.
The turn in is quick and I found myself having to recalibrate my turn points deeper into the bends. Suspension is firm even in solo mode and the bike holds a line through the bends with no rider input other than to wind on the throttle!
I'll post up some pics when I have more time but for now I one seriously happy bunny

Now, we should say that it's been a tad chilly in the upper Balkan Peninsula with "some" rain so that needs to be considered... Also we are wearing Klim riding suits, but there really have been NO HEAT ISSUES even when we've been in stop and go traffic in some of the bigger towns. The bike tours beautifully.

Hubilado, if you get a bit of time I would love to hear more about how your wife finds the passenger accommodation on this bike, particularly with respect to the footpeg placement.

Some have complained of the pillion pegs being too high and/or forward, and they do look that way.

But after 2200km your comment "The bike tours beautifully" suggests things can't be all bad for the occupant of the rear seat.

Any other comments you wanted to make on the bike's qualities as a tourer would also be more than welcome.

What sort of fuel range have you been getting?

Sounds like you are enjoying quite a trip. Congrats.

That's really impressive and the bike looks planted.

I've had my Multistrada 1200s up around 250 kph a few times,
just for fun, but with it's 17 x 17 wheel set it will never be as
versatile as the KTM with it's 19 x 17 wheels.

No way would I take the R that fast with the 21 x 18 wheels.

Most if not all speedos are out. 270 would most likely "only" be 245-250 km/h.
Still very fast for a big adventure bike!

Spanish title Motociclismo got a verified 243kmh out of the 1190, or 151mph, commenting that the speedo showed more than 260.

Their dyno recorded a maximum of 132hp. For comparison, they got 137hp out of the Multistrada 1200 and 102hp from the best KTM Adventure 990 they tested.

Report here. (Use Google translate.)
