A question for the existing 1190 owners: "Do you need to re-map the bike if you add the Akra slip on?
Many thanks.

Did you get that one at Team Moto Virginia with extras fitted?
You are one lucky person!
Would love to have a visual inspection but a test ride would really make up my mind.
Yes I was told only 40 spread out to 60 dealerships in Australia, I think they need to increase production in Austria and send some more to Australia!

Mostly they need, I am sure it's the same with 1190.

No, and the catalizator and DB killers can't be taken off.

Can't wait; I like Akra :-)) used to have on my 990. I had the db killers out; one morning my neighbor came towards and said "listen my friend every morning at 8 am, my wife leaves for the office, kids for the school; when I relax and close my eyes in the bed, you start your bike to leave and spoil my morning"
Can't wait to do it again. My 800R has a Schnitzer, but the sound is not much.

Great news!. Thank you Igorpetrovich!.
Mine will arrive at the same time with the bike and the dealer wants to charge me for the "re-mapping".. I wasn't 100% sure before.. I will call them tomorrow and let them know!
(At this point, I think I know more about the bike than them! I need to start charge them! )

Here's a link to the trip so far....

A bit of rain and cold in the north, but it's been a good outing so far.
Thanks hubilado, I found your bike page from the link, and some preliminary thoughts. Will check from time to time for updates.

It sounds as though the passenger accommodation is okay but could be better. Will require some attention on the test ride. Obviously it's not a disaster, but it sounds as though your passenger might miss the Multi.

Hey guys,
Also I want to know if anyone has the Touratech panniers. If so, how good are they?
I just received an email today from "Glovescout" confirming Hepco and Becker will have the frame for the paniers soon.. I really like those panniers, look very solid and well made. Not sure how heavy they are compared with the Touratech ones, but at the moment the Glovescout has those ones in special ($100.00 off).

The TT panniers on my 1190 ADV are excellent! A vast improvement to the standard non pro panniers on my old 990!
I went for the adventure luggage package which included top box and tank bag- worked out cheaper than ordering direct from TTUK.

My only negative comment would be that you have to order and fit the locks separately ! I'm not sure why TT don't supply the boxes with locks as standard. Or even as a fitted option ??

They also look fantastic on the R!!

Was someone asking earlier about whether the daytime running lights could be over-ridden so that dip beam was on during the daytime ?

Answer is yes it can be - it's done through the onboard menu on the dash.

Clearance issue on 1190 - is this proof?

So, when I saw the bike and all the hype I immediately thought about the drop in clearance and having a 990R wondered how much difference the drop in clearance would impact damage to the bike. Lots of assurance from KTM that its a non-issue... I cant help but laugh, and I am not sure if anyone else has noticed, but even in the KTM 1190 Promo Ads it clearly shows a new 1190 with damage already to the header... looks almost flattened in that section. I check on some other images of new 1190's on the showroom and the pipes are perfectly round... so its not a fancy bit of compression or a bomber on the head... check it out below... I have never had a love bite there on the 990
