Yep . . . Sounds like only the rear will swap out with a 950/990A:

Saw the standard 1190 today for the first time. Orange looks better in the flesh than on photos. Nice bike, need AUD$25000!

Someone ridden' both the R and the regular 1190adv andcan tell me how they differ? Im not after numbers, i want to know the subjective opinions between them. Only had the chance to sit on an R and it felt better then the low (to me) regular 1190. I am thinking about replacing my 950 next year with a 990R or 1190R so i'm kinda curious to the 1190R, how it rides and feels.

Does it come close to the 'offroad beast' feeling of the 950s? (the regular 1190 certainly did NOT feel like that)

That's the spirit

I noticed from your sig that you're stocking Holan and Nomada gear.

They seem to have a 1190 rack/pannier combo in the making which utilizes the space over the muffler. Got any info on that yet?

On a recent trip to Belgium, I was able to stop by a local KTM dealer near our office. They had both an Adventure and an R. The R is tall. I have a Tiger back home here with a Corbin seat so am used to tall bikes. The Adventure was similar to the S10 for seat height. Also liked the adjustable screen on the Adventure. Anybody have experience if it really makes any difference?

Was looking hard at the S10 to replace the Tiger, but that new 1190 Adventure is sweet.

The Belgium KTM shop said to call ahead next time and they would book a better demo ride.

Local KTM dealer here in states looked at me like I was from Mars when I asked if they had any better timing on new model. When I handed them the 1190 Adventure brochure (not in English by the way) I knew they weren't just playing stupid, they really didn't have a clue.

I have ridden both. The best way to look at the differences would be to say that the standard 1190 feels close to being a big engined SMT - seems to encourage (and be capable of) high speed road riding. The 1190 R feels a lot closer to the 990 Adventure. Slower steering and, for me, the 21 inch front wheel encourages me to slow down a little ! Essential if you need your license for work .......

I also sat on both, but felt no difference in seat height. But that doesn´t mean anything, because the seat height on the adventure is adjustable, but not on the R.
Also the preload of the springs would made a difference.

Has anyone got powerparts for their 1190 yet? I'm waiting for the dealer to get gps holder and luggage.

Yep, as you can see on the forum several people already have Akra's, bash plates, luggage racks and bags (although I have only seen Touratechs and no original KTM luggage yet).
I've had the GPS holder for a few weeks now. See http://www.advrider.com/forums/showp...&postcount=145.
How quick you get stuff probably also depends a little on the country you're in and how active your dealer is.

Yesterday first time so far, ridden the 1190 with a passenger. Not bad, at the end of the day, I asked her, she said that it was comfortable and didn't complain about the pegs' location.

Have the gps holder and tank bag but not seen the KTM top box yet and am being told of a problem with the side boxes relating the locking keys.
Right now I am at the dealer while my Adventure is being serviced. I did the final break in miles on track and can confirm just how well this bike handles. :):):)
